I have got to know the lady in meat dept at my town and country store. Had bacon on sale 3 for 10 and she said if came in would put back 6 pkg. Call came in told I would be right there. Got there and she had my 6 but got 3 more. She is so nice to help me get the sales. This is how I get the best deals for my money.

As far as content length, you can just make them all long content but have your editors break them down into smaller sections based on content for those with shorter attention spans.

Chickens bred for laying eggs don't start laying eggs until they're about five months old. Meat chickens are ready to butcher in six weeks. That's why eggs are still expense. It should get better in the spring.

If I find that I can't think of what to cook for supper, I look at our little free newspaper that comes out every week and look at the "Senior Center" menus, as they seem to always have balanced meals and get ideas from there. I can usually find something there that I have the ingredients on hand to make. I have volumes 1 & 2 of your cookbooks and they are sure a blessing. Thank you all for all you do for so many.

Iā€™ve taken store bought eggs and coated them with mineral oil. I keep them in a wire basket covered with a flour sack towel and have had no problems. Iā€™ve been doing this for at least a year. You just have to make sure the eggs donā€™t have any cracks.

When we moved 2 yrs ago, we had a lot of canned goods etc. that were stored in a container, in a hot area, then when they came out here, they accidently put in a shed and it gets very cold, so everything probably did freeze. Then when we finally got around to bringing in the house, we didn't know if it was safe to eat? Lots of canned soups with meat in. What would you have done???

Yesterday I went to Neighborhood Walmart (not a Supercenter) for bread. They had cereal on sale for a dollar. It was Kashi brand. Some of them were $4.50 a box. I left without nine boxes of cereal. Today I stopped by Kroger just to see what they had. Found mushrooms for $1.21 for 8 oz. I snatched the last 8. They are in the canner right now. A win for me šŸ˜Š

So my spiral Dining on a Dime is the 6th printing, 2011. That means itā€™s different, with different recipes, from the hardcover Dining on a Dime Volume 1? Just wondering if I need to purchase the hardcover volume 1 (just recently bought the Volume 2). Thanks.

As a child in our family we never drank soda and if we ever asked for one, my dad always said soda makes you thirstier
just drink water. I never developed a taste for soda but love plain water.

I freeze eggs whole mixed, I have used for scrambled eggs. defrost in fridge overnight. Put in mason jar with some milk and use immersion blender and they fry up nice and fluffy. I have even used them partially frozen to immerse.

Maybe a solution to the cutlery issue is to have one of those rolling craft carts with 3 sections & put cutlery into 3 of those hooked buckets you can hang off the side. Then also put crockery in one of the 3 layers & other essentials like can openers etc while you're doing your remodel. You can throw a cloth over it when the workers are working on your kitchen to reduce dust etc. You may find that this is a good solution even after the remodel as you can move the cart to areas where you're not working to keep people out of your way while cooking!! Thanks as always for all of your tips & tricks to saving money, time & effort! šŸ„°Blessings from South AustraliašŸ’•šŸØ
