Is Facebook putting up those 15 seconds or so short videos? I hate them they get in the way of the other interesting things you have to show us. Is it possible to opt out of that? They’re doing it on all the subscriptions now and it’s a pain. I know I can go through and hide them but when you’ve got 10 in a row and it takes over your whole page, it’s a bit ridiculous. Do you have any say in it?
Suffering for your sins for the Adsa essential shopping basket eh? Defiantly huge hit and miss shopping basket .MY OPINION!!!, I can imagine the more sadist in us would much prefer the "full" review or full opinion of what you really felt . what was left out rather shying away from what you really thought of this value range. You might not be able to express this but I would say this is probably a stay way rather than keep with the full shopping trolley of Asda essentials. stick to the classics m&S Sainsbury occasionally Tesco Aldi Lidl. love your reviews keep up great work many more success on your channel.
Credit to you for making a video with 'Just Essentials' items because so many people are struggling with food prices and tend to feel left out if the You Tuber uses pricey ingredients – really applaud you for doing it. I'd love you to do the same with Lidl and Aldi too if you have time. I use Lidl's own brand and (for example) their Sweet Pickle is EXACTLY like that well-known brand beginning with "B' but for a fraction of the price, and people are always amazed at how little my weekly food shop costs. x
🐈 🐾 🐾 🐈 🐾 🐾 Hey JASPER!!!!! ❤ 😊
Thanks Cheryl!
Sometimes filling your family is more important that what make of beans or quiche you buy. In this day and age we all have to watch what we spend, prices are so high, so buy the essentials and add a dollop of this and that to make it taste better. Great recipes and a realistic view on what you thought. Thank you for that Cheryl and thank you soooo much for sharing xxx
Hi Cheryl. I think your meals looked tasty as you always do. It’s a matter of preference and what you can afford for your family budget. Great job love ❤️.
Thank you so much for doing this with the essentials range. I’ve tried a few things to keep the costs down and they’ve been fine, I’ll definitely be trying some more now too. Much appreciated 🙏
Hello from the west coast of Canada. It just isnt a Sunday if it doesn't end with seeing what Cheryl's made for tea this week. Your mystery fish for the fish cakes was cod according to the front of the bag you showed 🙂
Great meals Cheryl I tried a few yellow label stuff my partner didn’t like the soup beans or them sausages but I found them ok everyone to there taste thanks Cheryl xxx👍🏴🏴
I have had imported English banger sausages and find they have too much filler and not enough pork for my taste buds. Those 51% pork ones would not be a hit with me. I wonder what fish they used in the fish cakes, too.
I don't think we have ASDA in Tennessee. I bought a small frozen Quiche at our local grocery. I'll give it a try soon. TY for showing us what you served with what you bought. Love the menu ideas
I looooove thick gravy!
nice recipes….giving the rest of us good ideas🎉 thanks again
Just Essentials seems very hit-or-miss. Those mushy peas did not look even remotely mushy. Perhaps they were some fancy "pre-mushed" style of mushy peas.
Hi Cheryl, another fun week of meals. We don't have Asda or Just Essentials here in NYC, but all the stores have house brands of products. Some of them are absolutely delicious and others are not so good. For example, Target has really excellent frozen meatballs, but their spaghetti sauce is pretty terrible. We like all the dairy products at Aldi, but their meats are disappointing. It's alot of trial and error, but there are some good deals if you're willing to put in the time and effort.
Oh your dishes look so delicious love .
Enter me please xx
This was great, thank you, Cheryl. I have wondered what some of these cheaper supermarket ranges are like. I shop online and have recently bought my fortnightly shop from Ocado. Their own essentials type range is brilliant plus some of the m &s cheaper items. I spend no more than I would with Morrisons online and the quality is so much better. However, I still use Morrisons for household products and toiletries. Have a good week x
Hello Cheryl,,your potatoes no matter how you make them, always look delicious.
Maybe try their mid range and see what the differences are.
I shop at Asda because I’m very happy with a lot of their own brand gluten free range. Both my husband and I have coeliac and it is more expensive but Asda own are very good. Our favourite is the gf Cumberland sausage….they are so good. Other shops are catching up on the free from range but for our taste Asda co esp out on top.
I was not impressed with the Asda essentials. These products may be less expensive and quicker to prepare, but I tend to avoid more highly processed foods, and I really do not care for any canned vegetables except corn and tomato. The meals did not look nearly as nice as your usual homemade meals. Mr. What's for Tea is a good man for giving it all a go 😊.
However, on the bright side, it is always so lovely to hear your warm, welcoming voice. Enjoy a very good week. My best to you.
Well has another week only just fled by, can't believe it. Loved the menu for the week. God bless you Cheryl. Never tried that just essentials, tried savers, now and again. X
Here in Canada, for my family .. I purchase the "no name" yellow label, especially the butter, as I am fortunate when I can find it on for under $5 per pound. Likewise with Wal-Mart, some of their "Great Value" live up to their name .. lol. I was horrified yesterday doing grocery shopping at our small local supermarket, BIG tubs of ice cream have gone from $5 to $6 to now $9.49. Dog food is off the charts rediculous .. what used to be $29.99 is now $45 .. sigh, have to make more homemade for my two boys, they prefer it anyway .. Bless
Hi Cheryl, love Mondays, dinner, I love fishcakes, keep up the good work 👋
Sounds like the cheap stuff wasn't a winner. Lol. Ya get what you pay for….😉
Hello Cheryl can we have a recipe of your Chinese chicken curry please it looked so yummy!!! Great video as always xx
The rice is because it's a mixture of wholegrain and white rice … I asked them about this that's why the pack just says long grain rice xx
Some good buys there thankyou
I buy just essential asda cheap cheerful.
This is all American democracy, the whole world will suffer from it. yugoslavia, libya, iraq, etc. how many countries did they rozaalize? and England does not give freedom to Scotland, Canada, Australia. therefore it will be right when they really get freedom from the crown of England. freedom of scotland, canada, australia
Not from the UK, but have a question about mushy peas? What is the flavor/texture profile? Is it like canned peas just kind of mashed up, so kind of sweet? Or is it like dried peas that are hydrated and mashed a little?
The sausages looked good 😊 👍
just essentials tuna, same a any other, sardines, nice wee treat for the dog, 💙💙💙
Thanks for covering this range. I do buy quite a few Asda Essentials and certainly I know the pasties and pies dont have much filling. You learn what is fine and what is not so great. Things like soups, baked beans, sauces etc arent that great on their own but add some herbs and spices from the cupboard and they become more than passible.
I think you've spoilt Mr What's for tea.😅
Hi Cheryl! Nice week of meals. By the way, I bought everything I need to make your chicken Scotch Broth recipe so that will be on my menu for this week.
I stopped going to ASDA when they were bought out by Walmart, the US company that sold the ammunition to the underage killers at Columbine High School. And even though they are now back in a nominal British control, I have never felt like going back to them. There is nothing they do better than Waitrose, Lidl or Aldi, so why lower my standards?
Thanks 🙏 for your promised follow up on the Asda Savers range which you recently bought Cheryl, looks pretty much a case of hit & miss, much as I expected. I may try the savers cooked chicken for a quick & easy curry meal. One item which I can recommend is the Asda Savers tinned corned beef (yellow can) @ £1.90/340gm compared to Princes @ £3.25/340gm = a massive saving of £1.35/can. Tastes pretty much the same to me. The presentation of your meals always look lovely Cheryl.😍😋
Take care x 💕💞💗
I'm not overly keen on the Essentials stuff myself apart from the loo roll but my daughter loves the spaghetti hoops.
Great upload
Everyone has different tastes isnt it
I have tried a lot of it too, perhaps most is fine too.
My favourites is the j.e tinned spaghetti, the short cut one,the crisps and some of the microwave meals. The bacon too. Gravy granules I regularly have.
I don’t advise the ham but it may have been a bad packet though. I can’t do the fish,I will only eat cod and only cod lol 👌🙌💖
Hi Cheryl your meals looked lovely… even though it was just essentials from Asda you made them look delicious 💕
Lovely dinners Cheryl. Thanks for the video.❤
