What is the origin of tomatoes in southeastern asia? It's warm and sunny, so I'd imagine that they would do well. They're in so much more southeastern Asian cuisine than I thought, so I was just curious as to where they come from!
the thing with eggplant is, that it has a form of MSG like Tomatoes do. Paired with a pinch of salt, it's one of the most umami flavors for me

I heard you mentioned Romanian zacusca, but if you mention eggppant, most Romanians would think of salata de vinete not of zacusca
Eggplant 🍆 is my favorite. In my home country we have a dish similar to baba ganoush called salata de vinete. So good!
