Never used a rice cooker or Instant pot… Just used stove top pressure cooker or any regular pot! 😝hehehe
So much about the instant pot, but it suckssssssss! For all that money. 😏 "Keeps" making my rice into baby food. 😥😖
You posted this video on YouTube but didn't watch any of the 6,328 YT videos on how to properly cook rice in the IP? You need to stay with the rice cooker.
Your really annoying. Could'nt go through your video!
I have a Aroma rice, and so does instant pot, the truth is, I like the way the rice comes out, I don't have any predilects for that.
Naw hit the rice button
Use the instsnt pot rice to make sushi….
I cook perfect rice with my IP. I use the rice setting and it’s 12 min. And I let it Natural release for 10 min and then open the valve to release the rest. I fluff it up and transfer it to a glass bowl to stop the cooking and cover it and put it in the oven to keep warm while o finish anything else I’m making. I’ve brought my rice to pot lucks lol and everyone says wow good idea. I also use my own veggie broth I make with my leftover celery ends, carrots, onions and yeah I tweak it.
You cannot put an equal amount of water for the instant pot pressure cooker since it does not evaporate at all while the regular rice cooker does evaporate during the cooking process.
Yeah, pressure cooked rice simply isn't the same as steamed rice. Steamed rice is best. But you can make steamed rice using the steam mode of the instant pot. The disadvantage is it won't cook as fast and won't automatically adjust the cooking time based on weight and temperature, etcetera like it does with the rice mode if instead you use the steam mode to cook your rice.
Thank you for a real trial and review by someone who actually eats rice. My mom taught me to measure how much water to use with the tip of my finger, does this work with the instant pot? I just can't justify buying one if it doesn't make good rice. Even we half Filipinos are picky, lol.
Thank u, I needed to send my Zojirushi $200 rice cooker back to the company for some warranty work. (Lid doesn’t close all the way, rice is over cooked now after 3 to 6 months of service)
I needed something to cook rice with for 3 weeks.
Instant pot just released a dedicated rice cooker. Ceramic pot. I know this an old video. Great vid.
Instant pot makes awful rice. I'll keep my rice cooker. Giving my ipot to my daughter.
Go to "Just One Cookbook." Search for Instant pot rice – how to make rice in an instant pot. She did a quick release.
I rather to use my rice cooker than instant pot. That is my opinion.
i have had good luck with the rice button
maybe use less water….great video
I love sticky rice. I think I’d prefer the instant pot!
I'm going to experiment with the rice button on my IP. I like set and forget cooking.
I have an Aroma rice steamer and an Instant Pot.. Pressure cooker's are not meant to cook rice.. It doesn't come out as good as a rice steamer..
zojirushi rice cooker is the best but so so expensive. But worth it if u cook rice almost everyday. White rice takes 1 hour roughly but the rice is next lvl compared to a cheap rice cooker
If u eat that much rice I would invest in a deluxe rice cooker that cooks all rice types to perfection.
Both rices look terrible
You have to wash it until the starch is gone so basically until the water is clean
Instant my ass
I do mine for 2 min.
you need more videos. this was a hilarious review.
Thank you for your video. I saw the final result and decided to take a little over 1/4C of water out (I was making 4C of rice) with high pressure and the rice turned out perfect. Thanks again!
Has anyone tried making brown rice with instant pot? I just wonder whether the pressure is good at softening the brown rice without the need to pre-soak it ?
Use less water in the instant pot and try again
I ended up buying a rice cooker, after years of my wife saying "we don't need one – my rice turns out good" — yah, well not as good as what the rice cooker did. 🙂 I ended up buying this one from Amazon and LOVE IT (https://amzn.to/2AXMWoK). I made a basic Indian style rice pilaf in it and it was super. As it was my first time I didn't use chicken in it, but will do so next time. Also when I made the rice, I did what my wife always does – wash, wash and wash until it is relatively clear. I also cook the rice in either beef or chicken stock (just using those OXO cubes) depending on what type of dish I will make. So if a beef pilaf then beef stock, if chicken or vegetable pilaf then chicken stock. One of the Indian grocers that I go to has a pilaf stock — but essentially it is vegetable stock.
Love the test
