You do give you, Travis and the teens more per meal? Just wondering how that works. I had 2 boys and a girl. She and I ate little while the boys as teens needed much more calories. Of course they are all grown now.

Really great job Jamerrill way to go!!!! The hot chocolate and coffee will be super valuable. We found just having clean socks and a hot drink calmed us all. Remember it's the water that is the main weight of the backpack. That is heave so after that ability to carry depends on what else can be lifted. We have a bucket with extra food that's heavy like cans so if we can put it in the car we are good if not it stays

Can I suggest a rethink on the name tags. If evacuated and there is chaos you don't want a stranger knowing your child's name. I only mentioned it because my little ones had name hats and a strange guy at a resort on vacation was calling my youngest by name and beckoning her because he saw her hat, she thought he knew he and began to walk to him till momma swooped in and dad chased after the guy. Maybe put thier names on the back so they know thiers but when worn it's against thier back and hidden from strangers

I haven’t seen too many survival grab and go videos, but I’m glad you’ve included food that yours includes food that your family eats everyday. Some people get those army MREs, and while those might do in a pinch, aren’t as tasty as one would like, or as handy for a larger family.

We put a 12 oz. ginger ale in everyone's pack along with some ginger chews. We figure we are going to be using these packs under stressful situations and in our family stress causes tummy woes, so better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I think you have done a fine job getting these packs together. Every family has to make their packs according to their own family.

This is amazing Jamerrill! Very organized and well thought out. I am just trying to figure out a scenario when you would need three days of food. Like if you had to evacuate for fire or hurricane or something, you would go to a hotel with food. Or is this more for a tsunami that wipes out the entire east coast kind of thing? I understand the batteries and thermal blankets and flashlights I think, but I am just not able to use my imagination enough to figure this out. In any case, you are definitely prepared and organized!!!

I feel like the food (tuna, chicken) in the packs are better for the back packs than cans. Maybe the cans could get put in a plastic tote and taken if you are able to use the car. Another useful addition if you were able to have access to boiling water would be cup a soup packs since the are so light and come with noodles etc in them. Also forgive me if this has already been included but I feel a small Gideon Bible would be good spiritual food for the older ones.

What is your plan for keeping the food rotating? So you have editable food, I am not a person who is stuck on expiration dates or even use by but peanut eventually got rancid as do peanuts and some of the other things. Lol, I am chuckling that you have actually meal planned for an emergency.

Dollar Tree has great ponchos! I also use their shower curtains to put on the floor of a tent or even over the top. I hook it with clothes ins or those metal office clips. The ones that are black and have silver pinchers.

The world is getting crazier and crazier. In contact with relatives in England. They now has a petrol shortage. Long line ups. No gas. What happens in Great Britain will eventally happen in North America. It never hurts to be prepared.
