Easy Low Carb Chicken Pot Pie! Need a quick and easy weeknight meal? Let’s find out if Carbquick Baking Mix makes a suitable alternative to traditional …
I love watching your videos. My only critique is you use prepackaged and processed foods. I always buy fresh cheese (mostly from the Amish) and shred it myself. The preshredded has nasty things to keep it from clumping. This mix is definitely a no-go for me.
I have made the Biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are bland but the gravy was good. The Cheese biscuits were much better! Today I added some some sour cream to the regular biscuits and they were better. I am still experimenting with the mix but think there is some potential.
Haha you crack me up. I haven't tried this carb quick yet
I make the carbquik cheddar biscuits and add jalapeno. Tastes so good, but admittedly I don't divide the batter properly and make less biscuits. lol
can NOT eat the soy
oh well!
It's actually only 6 carbs if you turn this into 4 servings. 97-73 (97 carbs) (73 fiber) = 24 grams of carbs for the whole dish. 24/4=6. That's not bad at all. Great video!
I make pancakes with carbquick. I don't use their recipe, though! It makes tender, fluffy pancakes. I have made this pot pie. It's ok, but I'd prefer a pastry crust!
I'm enjoying this vid (and several others of yours on Christmas Day 2019) and I laughed right out loud at the number of servings CQ says is in that casserole. I had a similar experience reading a label on some lo carb English muffins at the health food store. Each muffin, which of course gets split in half and blessed with some butter, etc was considered two servings. Really?! You gotta' be kidding me. Who but a bird only eats half of an English muffin?! Misleading labeling automatically makes me suspicious of the maker of the product.
Thank you for your channel! I love it! I have tried Carbquick, and do like the biscuit recipe that you roll out. What I absolutely LOVE is their recipe for cinnamon rolls. I was shocked at the wonderful flavor. I individually wrapped and froze the extras so I wouldn't be tempted to eat them all at once. I used Sukrin Gold as the sweetener in the filling; absolutely amazing. I highly recommend trying the cinnamon rolls.
I know this video is old but i just got this product 21$ Canadian ouch
But made waffles and was soooo good i got this product to make biscuits for Christmas dinner
I use it most every day to make some bread with sausage patties I use a little extra water and that helps if be fluffy in center.
I put shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, & paprika in my drop biscuits. When I need a little something like biscuits to keep me from cheating hard core. Thank you for making these videos! ❤
One question, did you experiment with it anymore? How'd it effect your blood sugar?
I so wanted to try carbquick but I have problems with gluten… now I'm kind of sad I thought I had found a replacement.
Never used it and probably won’t use it. I am on a really low carb diet… like 20-25 carbs a day. .. never used bisquick either. We always made homemade biscuits. But anyway I love how honest you are… love watching your channel
I see you make that and all I'm thinking is that where are the seasonings? Some salt and pepper would be lovely. even some melted cheddar to bump up the flavor profile. a small dice of maybe a couple baby carrots. Just enough to get the taste in the mouth, as our family saying. Doesn't have to be much but just to get the taste profile. Thanks for the video. I would love to see more almond flour recipes.
I would have guessed about 4 servings.
I love Carbquik pancakes! The garlic cheesy biscuits are great too! I've used Carbquik for years! There are tricks – moisture is an issue. Sometimes more water or heavy cream is needed. Pancake batter is thick!! like Hungry Jack. Don't overwork it – because of the protein it will toughen up! Oh there are recipes on the inside of the box just like Bisquik. More recipes are on their website too. Carbquik has been used in hospitals, nursing homes etc for years. They get it in 25-50lb drums. I also use it in breading with crushed pork rinds. I wish I could upload pics of things I've made with Carbquik. I use Torani Sugar Free Pancake syrup with pancakes. I make a sausage gravy over Carbquik biscuits.
The Sugar Free Diva has a recipe, Low Carb Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits. They use Carbquik. They are very good. That's my main use for CQ. But, yeah, the plain biscuits are not delicious.
I love Carbquik for Cheddar Bay biscuits. It's not the same but scratches my itch!
V-
great video! Carbquick has it's pros and cons, but overall it's a pretty decent product- I love using it around Christmas and the holidays to make sausage balls, and honestly, you'd never know the difference if you didn't have the box right in front of you- keep up the great work!
I know this is an old video. I am new to your channel…. we tried carbquick to replace bisquick in chicken and dumplings. Followed their recipe on the box for the dumplings only. they were alright, added that familiar flavor but the texture was not great, they basically dissolved shortly after serving. Chicken and dumplings is my number one comfort food and was hoping against hope that Carbquick would prove adequate…. we will NOT be doing it again, the dissolving dumplings were a failure. Love your channel, keep it up!
There’s just no one like you out there! Love your content!
The blueberry muffins are really good! I used to make them weekly until I ran out of Carbquick. Going to give this one a try since I save most of my daily net carb count for dinner! Thanks for making and sharing this video. Making some pot pie this afternoon!!
You can throw some fresh herbs in that quick carb see what that taste like
use butter and a little cheddar in the biscuits and some spices
a little more broth, a bit of heavy cream and brandy in sauce, sauteed mushrooms and garlic w the brocoli and chicken, butter in the biscuit layer?
A roux!
That was a pretty good, educational, and fair review, which is just what I was looking for. Thanks for putting out a quality video. You've earned a new subscriber 🙂
Only tried it as a pizza dough so far, wouldnt recommend it there.
Make the biscuits using one part carbquik to half a part heavy whipping cream. Carbquik is wonderful if you watch a lot of the tweaks and pay attention to others alterations
I almost spat out my coffee when he said “Apparently I bought the RESTAURANT SIZE!!!”
Super funny guy. Love watching your videos. 👍🏼👍🏼
Good grief, if you used Bisquick and divided it up into 10 servings, it would probably be the same carbs! 40g of Bisquick has 28g of carbs….and might taste better? Have you tried Bob’s Red Mill low carb baking mix? If so, what are your thought?
Now I want sausage balls.
I use this and there is certain things that just taste good awful. I think the key to it is what you use it for. Pizza was a no go I'll stick to califlower or fathead crust. As a thickener this stuff is great. Even with fried chicken or Buffalo strips. It's all in what you blend it with I think. Also cheddar bay biscuits are way better with this than normal ones.
