Onions not caramelized and too much processed food ingredients( bouillon, bagged crouton`s?)only real cooking here is the sliced onions.Use that pot for home made stock and it will be twice as good even though the onions are not caramelized, and please just toast some baguettes,so easy.

Yesterday, I used my Ipot for the first time, made the French onion soup, and had it evaluated by a French Parisian. It was perfect. Freezing some of the excess today.

I'm surprised that with all your cooking experience you don't know what carmelized onions should look like. Your's haven't even begun to be cartmelized.

You don’t cater to the hearing impaired on how to cook recipes! Why not? We as human impaired or hard of hearing and deaf people would like to know how to cook as well but we need the help of hearing people to help us cook! Is there anyway that you could add captions to your video?

Hi, I love your channel, and this recipe looks fantastic, I only have one doubt, it is safe to cook wine in an instant pot. I have seen many items that indicate not cooking with liquor, since liquor and water release pressure differently. I appreciate your opinion based on your experience with these pots.

Those are not carmelized onions. They are softened onions. To carmelize them, put them in the melted fats placed in a large skillet in one layer, and cook them low and slow until they are golden brown. Onions cannot carmelize when they are all compacted. I'm sure your soup had flavor, but it had flavor from softened onions.

I have started cooking, one of my favorite dishes is French onion soup. I enjoyed the video. I noticed that you didn't add sugar and people talk about making the onions a little more brown. I'm just curious for comments.

I made it but cooked the onions with a little less butter and let them saute longer to get them carmelized. Added a bit of water to de-glaze the bottom and get all that lovely browning flavor! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Delicious!!
