Why doesn't the timer display show the count down of the cook time? You set it for 1 minute, and the number 1 continued to stay on the display. I would think if you were cooking for a longer time, it would be handy to know how much time is left as the timer counts down.

Kim I am so glad you are doing this series on Instant pot I found you looking how to do Jasmine rice. I have one request PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you tell people how dangerous this PRESSURE cooker can be if not used properly. Would you please google
"9-year-old severely burned after pressure cooker accident" and watch news coverage of this 9 year old boy. His grandma got a new instant pot for Christmas and was cooking beans and filled the cooker too full with water in the beginning and this accident occurred. Most people think the "fill" line means you can fill your pressure cooker to that line , you SHOULD NOT do this I had the same experience with my first electric pressure cooker years ago it was a "Wolfgang Puck" I filled it too full cooking a roast and when I quick released it and as soon as the button went down and I removed the lid it was still hot and bubbly when I opened the lid liquid sprayed every where and I dropped the lid on the floor I got burned but not as severely as the boy and his grandma.
I now years later own 2 Instant Pot brand pots but I learned a very valuable lesson with my first. I also do not let children or pets in my kitchen when my pot is going.
Great series by the way, can't wait to try the jasmine rice I just got a huge bag and so want to try it, I done the long grain on the rice setting and it worked but wasn't sure about the jasmine kind.
Also if you want to reset your pot to factory default settings here is the instructions.

If however, you prefer to use the factory settings, all you have to do to reset to the factory default settings, is press and hold the “Adjust” button for 3 seconds. Just be sure your Instant Pot cooker is in the Off mode when you're resetting it.

Thank you for this. I have an off brand instant pot and mind doesn’t sing to let you know it’s on properly and it doesn’t have the red pin. I’m usually a nervous wreck using it because of that. Thinking about buying a real instant pot so I can use it more often and not being worried.

I know you probably addressed this but may have missed it. I live alone undecided if i need a 6 qt to have left overs or a smaller pot. Your opinion is appreciated. Also i don't have a freezer other than my refrigerator. Thank you in advance.

I’m so glad your doing these videos as I got a 6 quart Nova Plus Instant Pot for Christmas. I just did my Turkey dinner for my family and the only time I used the stove was to cook the turkey in the oven. I made sweet potatoes, glazed carrots and red potatoes in my instant pot. But I’m on WW and I’m always looking for WW recipes to make in my Instant Pot. Looking forward to seeing your videos.

Thanks so much! I didn't do this when I got mine last Christmas. I have fixed a bunch of chicken tenders per your instructions. I did them a little less because they weren't the whole breast. I will follow along so I can feel comfortable about my pot. This is great!!!!

Thank you! This is just what I need. I’ve had my Instapot sitting in the box since October. While I was excited to get it, I’ve been very intimidated. I like the way you explain its functions, you make it look very easy and doable. Looking forward to the rest of your series. Happy New Year!

You're a great teacher, very patient. What does the L on the left of the numbers mean? It was after it finished cooking. Can't wait to see more. Thanks for sharing with us.
