This is tempting! A general question: Why do you bake the sweet potatoes (yams) instead of microwaving them, which takes maybe 10 minutes, caramelizes them just the same, saves energy, and doesn't heat up the kitchen? None of the cooking channels I watch uses a microwave. They mostly have all the other kitchen toys, so it's not that.

So Glad You did this @Simply Mamรก Cooks ๐ŸŽ‰
Because I knew it was gonna be forever before I tasted a sweet potato pie that She and her father tweaked!
    And was like no other.
So been hoping to find one to not forget the taste of sweet potatoes as a recipe

Ok, firstly, you have ppl criticizing whether they think u washed your hands? And secondly, since you baked the custard you made at 400 for an hour, what kind of germs could even live through that? Really, ppl need to think.

Thanks so much for this recipe! We grew our own sweet potatoes this year and I'm hoping to make a sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving. I need to find a good brown sugar substitute first.

I accidentally found that if you use a ladle to twirl around and push liquid through a mesh strainer, it is so fast and gets pretty much all of the liquid out! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
