I couldn’t believe how good this Cajun Dirty Rice was!

I’ve been craving some good Louisiana-style Cajun comfort food lately, and I’ve also been wanting to try out some new griddle …
Being an Aussie, I don't get why it's called "dirty". I've seen other dishes called "dirty something". We have "dirty chai coffee" here. I don't get why it's called that, but I don't drink coffee. Apparently it's very popular!
I would omit the bell peppers because they are disgusting. Don't like chicken livers at all (although I do like lamb liver, go figure!). However, that looked absolutely, 150% DIVINE!
Between you, and 3 or 4 other cooking channels, I never have to worry about, what am I making for dinner tonight. I just look at a video or 2 and that's tomorrow night's dinner taken care of! This one is definitely going on the list because I absolutely love anything rice that's fried.
Thanks for yet another awesome video! Cheers to you both from Down Under.
Neil I’m a noob in the flat top world and I’ve learned so much from your videos. I look forward to your videos and have actually made chicken fried rice on my flat top.
Thank You for the great videos. Ron
Gulf Coast Fried Rice?
King! When you getting that weber slate for a review?!
Looks awesome nicely done
Damn! You sure added a ton of meat. I think I will give this a go. When adding the chicken livers I think some chopped shrimp also would be bomb.
I am Cajun and from Louisiana. I do not like “traditional” dirty rice because it is too dry for my liking. I’d probably prefer this one to the traditional version. And yes, chicken liver is an acquired taste by itself. Cooked down in dishes such as this helps pull out some of the undesired flavors. Great job!!
A little okra would have been nice. Not sure if you like it or not but I think it would have been another ingredient that would fit.
Flat top dump rice😂 looks good😋
If you serve the jerk chicken from your recent video with this cajun rice as the side, Jamaican people will be like, "What?!?!" And cajun people will be like, "Oh hell naw!" 😁
Looks delish!!!
Nice video but what's up with the chicken livers??????
Looks great, but I’ve heard that you need to violently slam down an entire stick of softened butter on the griddle before you start cooking any type of Cajun food according to my friend named Ralph. 😁 If you ever want a perfect Popeye’s dirty rice clone recipe, let me know because I’ve got one and it’s really amazing.
Neal… Love your videos but you freak me out when you are diceing up stuff and you speed the video up. If I had a dollar for every time I have cut myself when diceing up onions and other stuff I could probably go out a make a good down payment on a 36" Blackstone griddle with the air fryers. I guess being a former Navy culinary chef you learn how to dice with out cutting yourself. I can only imagin how good this look. I'm a big fan of Popeye's but I don't think their Dirty Rice holds a candle to what you have just made. I'm originally from Lousiana but even down there it isn't as good as your recipe.
Was just talking about this last night. Thanks for a great recipe Neil and Amy. Stay safe and keep up the great videos , Fred.
The dirty rice looks excellent.. I can’t lie those griddles seem to be pretty good..
With chicken livers, that helps qualify your dish as the real deal! Way to go Neal!
Flexing on the knife skills!
Its like Boudin sausage without the casings. Pig liver would work cool. Very cool gonna try this.
I got my griddle about a week ago. Thanks to your videos I’m busting out great meals for my family and feeling confident. It’s great fun to cook with.
Crazy that I don't like rice. Except for red beans & rice, and Gumbo. Native Texan, and don't at all care for Spanish or Mexican rice, and won't eat a "burrito" that has rice in it. However. This looks really good. Will be on the menu in mi casa soon.
I'm divided on this one. Can't do the livers. I use that for catfish bait around here. We sub in a little anchovies in these cases. I know it's not authentic, but it's good. Nice job, looks really good.
Looks delicious, I will pass on the chicken livers though…..but looks amazing!
it helps to have the right tools to work it..thanks looks great..N Carolina
I think I'll try gizzards instead
Love the chicken livers!!!
Looks good! I like to add bacon when I make dirty rice. I haven’t made it on the griddle but I think it’s going to happen in the future.
😋😋😋 ❤ this show! Ur the bomb! Y'all rock!
Love liver! My fav, liver n onions, mashed potatoes, cornbread! Suzie in Tn
Fantastic dirty rice. Always a favorite in our house. I'll have to try adding chicken livers next time👍😊
I've only had fried chicken livers and I really don't like them but what do they do for this dish? I'm asking because them being mixed in with all the other protein, do they add salt or fat or something else? Would this version of dirty rice be just as good without them?
looking forward to trying this! I hope you brought a few friends over to help eat all that!! Lol!
I dig it! 👊🏻
Neal lookin’ good with all ingredients up until the liver! We will pass on the liver! I will add this to my rotation list….thanks! Nicely done mate!
