I want to say the microwave because you can control the power and cut it by 50% and it would still cook the food. I guess I sound crazy. I thought a microwave would be used.🤣
Great video! I would assume age of appliances makes a difference as well. Not that people are going to go out and buy new when the things that they own are perfectly fine. We need a new range and the one we are replacing will be 25 years old this summer. Many of the parts are starting to go on it. One day it will just not work at all.
I’m curios to know how much energy difference (if any) there is between cooking certain meals on the electric stove top compared to the crockpot —like chili, or soups, for example.
Other ways to save money on cooking that I use is to cut the vegetables into smaller pieces so they cook quicker and when I want that caramelised flavour I pre cook first and finish it off in my air fryer
We were on emergency generator power for a couple of weeks and used the instapot to cook most of our meals. The oven would draw too much. I was even able to bake a cake in it.
Because of the cost and lifespan, solar is ALWAYS the most expensive option, but it can be worth it for travelers. The cheapest, obviously, is a self-built solar oven or campfire.
I'm about a minute in, haven't read the comments, but I think its the instantpot because it has a mechanical advantage, a smaller, we insulated space with a rapid heating element and run for an ostensibly shorter time while still potentially having an equivalent amount of time in the 'cooking' heat range if you go with the natural release.

Who skipped to the end?
Please correct me if I am incorrect….your oven looks quite dated. The newest appliances are much more energy (electric) efficient.

What about an air fryer?

I bet the microwave beats them all.
I wonder how an air fryer Chalks up with the tested products.
I would like to see a comparison between the Instant Pot’s slow cook feature and the Crockpot.
My husband says Instantpot 😂 I think he’s right. Great video. Thank you!
I love it that you referred to the InstantPot as “the dark horse” 😂

It would be interesting to know if there are any changes in nutruitional value with these various cooking methods.
So informative!!! Thank for your research and helping us to save!!!!
I'm on social security. Instapots are too pricey for my senior budget.
the oven
I am a canner and would love to know if an electric stovetop canner or an electric pressure canner is cheaper to use. Has anyone here tested it.
Thank you for doing the comparison !!

Can you please tell us about your main kitchen wall oven? The age and how it cooks.
