I used to buy these by the zillions at McKenzie's Bakery when I lived in New Orleans. We were all heart broken when McKenzie's closed shop forever. McKenzie's also made great sweet rolls, cheesecake, eclairs, jelly donuts, black out cake and many other wonderful treats. McKenzie's was a New Orleans Institution!! I hope to make your donut drops in the very near future!

Those lemon buttermilk drops look delicious! I've never heard of lemon yellow paste food coloring; very interesting. Does the lemon yellow paste food coloring taste like lemon? Have a great day!

Hi Charlie as usual all of your food is amazing. I transitioned to eating plant-based and I cheat every now and again, lol. Lemon pound cake was always a favorite so I know these are going to be fire. Do you think these can be made in the oven, without deep-frying them?

I don't know how you come up with these ideas, Charlie, but you do and it is well worth it. Usually your stuff is 10 table bangs good, but you gave these 12 bangs and I felt every last one of them!!!! Can't wait to try them. Off topic, your Praline Pound Cake is my holiday cake every Christmas and New Years. Fam and friends just love it!!! So glad I found your channel and keep those recipes coming!!!!
