Guinness, but Coke or coffee will work. Seems you just want a dark liquid. I am sure the taste changes with the liquid selected so is the liquid for cosmetic or taste reasons? Great video as usual, you are so boring. Why don't you screw up sometimes?

I've used your method of smoking a chuck roast a couple of times now and it has always turned out fantastic.  I'll definitely try this pot roast recipe.  I'll have to say that considering cost vs flavor, I prefer to smoke chuck over a brisket.  Thank you as always for posting!!

My UPS man showed up with a cooler including some of that roast. Man, was it delicious Larry!!! It was super tender and I love that smoke flavor. The Guinness really added some nice savory tones. Great video Larry! Thanks for the roast! LOL

love using beer on pot roast… but don't stop with Guinness… there are a lot of beers that have chili peppers in them like the Rogue Sriracha Stout, Ballast Point Habanero Sculpin or the Stone Smoke Chipotle Porter… crazy good!!!

Those pan juices would make a killer gravy!! There's a lot of flavor in it, and in the roast! I keep threatening to smoke a chuck, and I like the combination of smoking and braising. It looked ridiculously juicy when you plated it.

Larry, I hope your beef chuck roast doesn't melt in my mouth too quickly because I need it to last while I savor it! It appears to be exploding with rich flavor! Beautifully done!
