First: FANTASTIC recipe – THANK YOU! Second, do you have a video somewhere where you talk about that knife? I'm wondering if it's more ergonomic, or efficient or something, than the standard chef's knife.

My mom gave me an even better reason to use hot or boiling water when cooking, like you do: this way the hot food into which you're pouring the water does not go through a "thermal shock" (hot / cold / hot / …), and it will keep its taste and nutrients better. [Edit: Fixed some spelling.]

I love this recipe! I wouldn’t normally think of using both potatoes and rice in one dish. But I might substitute Corn for the potatoes. Thanks for sharing this!!! Love your channel!

Thanks for the recipe. I ate a bowl of it and decided to throw a full teaspoon of garlic powder in the rest of the pot cause I was really missing it. Also added a tiny bit of celtic seasalt.

As a gardener I'm hoping you will take up this cause & run with it…
All around the globe vegans are leaving veganism claiming that the high fructose, high starch, high fiber diet destroyed their digestive system.
As a vegan who had to go back to animal products for a time do to severe health issues, I have been able to see that ALL nutrition can be gleaned from a plant only diet – even fiber free – through juicing. Yet, no matter the type of vegan diet vegans are getting sick.
Everyone is arguing "flesh vs plant" diets but I think everyone is missing the true culprit – CHEMICALS in our food.
Would you please do some vids sharing with folks the types of chemicals on their foods, how these poisons can make you ill and the reason organic is so important – especially as you increase your plant intake?
Also, please share the truth about how "organic" dies not mean "chemical free" and how growing your own produce is the safest way to by pass chemicals.
Also, what is your advice to people in cold climates, apartments, etc that say they can't grow their own?
Thank you for considering this massive issue the vegan community is not talking about anymore.

Thank you for this video! Simple ingredients that I always have in the house. I made a huge pot this morning, subbed in one can of navy beans as I didn’t have enough black beans. Added some shredded/chopped green cabbage and some carrots. I left out the crushed red peppers, used a tiny bit of cayenne instead. Supper done, for 3 nights, and some for the freezer to boot!

FABULOUS! This just became my goal today! I might try freezing an extra container too…. unless someone tells me it isn't a good idea to freeze this. I might try throwing together one big pot and one small pot. I need to test cumin with my taste buds again. I wasn't keen on it before. I really can't wait for a bowl of this! Wish I had it ready for breakfast! I may throw in some chopped greens as well.
