I saw someone on a post recommend whipping canned frosting. I watched them do it and it was light and airy and much easier to spread. I have not tried it personally YET … 😄

I remember when I was little my mother would make what we called a Tuna Boat. She would get this big loaf of bread at the store, cut it open and hollow it out from the top, make the tuna cream filling with peas and onions, then layer the top with cheese and bake it in the oven. It was always one of my favorites!
I'm looking forward to making some of these. I think my husband and our girls will go nuts for the peanut butter bread!

Never knew the wakey cake came from Great Depression . My mother in law makes the same cake but makes the frosting on the stove but uses almond extract instead of vanilla. Try it with almond extract next time. It tastes delicious !

Check out tribe of many. Sarah and Solo are a fantastic couple with a multitude of children who range from newborn to 17 years of age. Solo is a preacher, Sarah is a nurse but stays home and homeschools all of her kids. They are a well rounded bunch of kids.

Here’s a hint on the peanut butter/milk combo. Whisk them together and it will loosen up the peanut butter to be easier to incorporate in the dry mixture. Here’s a bonus…add and whisk 2 tablespoons of peanut butter into the milk called for to make INSTANT chocolate pudding. It’s a peanut butter cup that when you add a dollop of whipped topping and a sprinkle of chopped peanuts will make your inner kid do a happy dance… Lower the calories by using sugar free instant pudding mix and skim milk.

Funny story, my mom was fired from her job as a housekeeper/cook when she was a teen cos the wife got jealous that her hubby loved that white sauce you made with the tuna mixture! Just a simple white sauce! What a laugh! These recipes look great! Love your channel!

My mom made the potato Pattie’s without the ham as a side dish, we also had the creamed tuna, and the wacky cake is still our family’s go to chocolate cake recipe, it is more moist than any other cake.

My dad was born in 1920 and my mom in 1926. They were both from poor families and both of my grandmother's were wonderful cooks! We ate wacky cakes growing up. Delicious and easy to make!

So you added frosting but, I guess they didn't use frosting because of cost? Most of these are the basics we need to go back to, saves lots of $$ and food goes a long way-This is great thanks for sharing with us, I've see Clara's videos, just a few but these recipes are great, keep providing more!
