Hey Kim! I have been watching you for years now. You are so kind and inspirational, it is so beautiful to see your growth. Since you don't want a full rug. Have you considered a really cute runner? In between the couch, TV, and where you are going to put the chair. The high traffic area, it will tie the look together without the hassle of cleaning a big rug. Much love!!!

For those pots, you could also get just regular acrylic paint or little sample paints, mix the paint and baking powder to create a texture then just paint it on with a brush. Another idea

I say yes to a rug but it’s up to you and Carlos! Also with the spray painting… I have spray painted lots of different pieces before but I’ve never used the textured one. Seemed like you guys at first were spraying wayyyy too close and that causes the paint to go on way too heavy and it will end up dripping and take forever to fully dry and it also drys weird that way. The paint won’t go on evenly when you spray too close. Not sure if that’s what you guys were going for but towards the end you were doing good on that last piece you showed, you were spraying further away which disperses the paint more evenly which is why it turned out better! I need to try that textured spray paint! I love your videos Kim ❤️

My husband and I love dogs and we have helped stray dogs find their homes too. We also have fostered 8 dogs. The last one was a fail because we ended up adopting her since she was a senior dog and got along well with our bulldog. They are our furchildren and bring so much joy into our lives!

What about a green rug? Not the same but similar to the kitchen island. I feel like a light rug is definitely not doable with 4 dogs and kids later on. Plus just to bring some color to the living room

you can get a rug from ruggable and they are machine washable so you don't need to worry about the dogs!!!! 🙂 the rug just comes off the non stick mat and you can put it straight in the wash with soooo many colors + sizes!

i think you should get a rug that ties in with the kitchen island! it would balance out that island color and add a pop of color too! your living room is beautiful with the creams and whites but maybe add a pop of color with the rug! plus a darker rug would help with the dogs and potential spills and such

hi kim! everything looks great and is coming together nicely!! you should def get a rug for the living area. It'll really help to complete the space. You should add some colour (green, creams, etc) via the rug . check out loiloi rugs – they have really cool boho prints that are rlly in rn! IDK if you;ll like it cuz you seem to mainly use white and black, but check it out. Try moving your curtain rods closer to the ceiling and ensuring the curtains touch the floor as well!

Kim, I think you should get a rug. BUT, if you decide not to get one that’s okay too. Lol however, even though you guys are thinking of the near future about the kids and also doggy accidents, I feel like regardless of what happens, it’s gonna happen anyways. I personally think that a rug would 1.) it will complete the room. 2.) it’ll help with the echo in the house and 3.) of course it’ll be cute with it. If you don’t want an ivory color for the rug, try a black rug that has some sort of tan/white pattern on it that completes your taste.

BUT it’s all up to you and Carlos 😅

I honestly think it looks very white and a pop of colour or some tone needs to be put to balance it out and tie the rooms together , it is just way too blank. I feel like the rug in dining room is perfect for the living room as well like you mentioned before how much you love it!
