Jane, I love your rustic wood oven. Looks lovely! I am definitely cooking that dish too ❤️
What kind of stove is that?
This looks like a lovely recipe. Are you able to get cheddar fairly easily? I know it is more expensive even if you can buy in in France.
Very nice!😺❤️🇦🇺
I made your casserole today. Wow, delicious! My husband said it was definitely a keeper!
This looks so yummy. I will definitely be trying it. The only time I’ve cooked in a wood cooker was during a Girl Scouting event. 💜
Was it a cook once eat twice recipe? Giving 4 portions? xx
When I was small we had a coal fired range and my mum used to cooked layers of potatoes and onion with knobs if butter on top and then add liver on the very top, it was yummy with some brown sauce, great recipe Jane……… thanks love Wendy ♥️💋
We call it potato bake…. potatoes onions cheese bacon and a packet of French onion soup .. pour thick cream over and bake 1hour…. delicious and warming thankyou for sharing… no offence but can't stand the taste of creme fresh…..
I make something very similar only I use mushrooms and no bacon in mine. Looks delicious.
Delicious Jane great idea for a dinner
Wow.. thank you
It would probably work to sub sour cream for creme fraiche, too.
Looks yummy. Definitely trying this one! X
I love using my woodstove in winter.
Yes I cooked on a wood stove when I was first married. Also used a wringer washing machine. Telling my age I guess.
I've never cooked on a wood burner cooker but it really appeals to me. Thanks for sharing the recipe Jane it looked really delicious and I've noted it down to give it a try 😋
Gosh that looks good Jane, will be making that too! I just love your recipes and cooking…thankyou so much. 👋🏻😘
Wonderful Ideas. T.Y. My Version: 6 Russet Potatoes, 1 Sweet Onion, (sliced thin). Layered in Crockpot. On top of each layer add
2 TBLSP. all purpose flour, 2 TBLSP. Unsalted Butter. Pour Milk in until all the ingredients are covered. Cook on high 2 hours, while
stirring frequently. Add any cheese in when its almost done. Sprinkle cut up bacon and green onions on top of each serving. I substitute
1 can of cream of mushroom or celery soup, 1 can of water, or 1/2 can canned milk. instead of milk. I add 25% water, to every 3/4 gallon
of milk. We used 2 big chunks of coal in our wood burner.
That looked scrumptious Jane! With the cost of heating fuel here in Ireland (and everywhere) our goal is to save for a stove also! It makes so much more sense 💚 thanks for sharing lovely
Hi Jane just another recipe to add to my bow string I will try this later tonight it's something that wouid be good on boxing day with leftover turkey thank you once again for taking time out to show us all xxx 🥰
Mmmmm! Nummy! Love your videos! All the best to you both.
That looks really delicious. My husband doesn't eat cheese but I think I could do an adapted version with a white sauce and some herbs.
