Okay honest review here: this recipe is pretty bad. Chicken is quite overcooked, rice is done nicely, but lacks the punch that most other recipes have (needs more oil, friend ginger). 4 cups of rice is way way way too much for that much chicken – I'd recommend only one or two. The sauce is very…lacking. I'd recommend a simple blend of garlic, ginger, chili, sugar, salt, and lime instead.

Overall, it's a really simple recipe to feed your family, but I think it's a far far cry away from being Hainanese Chicken rice

Try the ratio of 1:1, 1 cup rinsed rice and add water to the 1-cup marker in the pot inner wall. Cook in manual 4 mins high pressure (default). After 4 mins is up, wait for another 10 mins bf manually release pressure. Hope this helps.

I tried putting it in for 6 minutes, but the chicken still came out a bit undercooked and the rice was pretty soft. Not sure if anyone else had the same problem?

You should clarify what cup size you are using. Seems like you are using the cups that came with the instant pot which is not actually a full cup.
