We love homemade granola. I mix it up and use walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds in different combinations. I donā€™t care for coconut but my husband loves it so I usually toast some coconut and keep it handy for him to add to his yogurt.

So happy to see a new video of you. Wow what a beautiful pantry space you created there. I am now also going more to charity shops (that's what they are called in UK) to look for things. I haven't been succesfull yet and some of these shops are actually not that cheap. They seem to know when they get a good item in. Only things you can get a reasonable price for here are clothes. But that is not what I'm looking for right now.

Just found your channel and wanted to tell you that I have those exact same shelf units you have added to your kitchen. Mine have a cherry finish and I bought them about 45 years ago from Ethan Allen. They were really expensive and have served me well over the years. Enjoy yours!

It's so good to have another video, Abby Jo. I just love your kitchen, and the new pantry shelves are so beautiful. I love the wood countertops and the brick, and I love the center island. I've really enjoyed watching your kitchen take shape. Your canned goods look beautiful. I love a well-stocked pantry, and I agree with what you said about their benefits. We have some shelves in an unused spare bedroom that we have been using for food storage in these uncertain times. And I love how you included a recipe that uses a number of your pantry items. So good to see you again!

My kitchen has almost no storage or space for more since we downsized from a 3 story Victorian farmhouse with a basement to a single story 1200sq ft modular without a basement or attic. However, my husband & I are longtime empty nesters & have an extra bedroom that was perfect for turning into a beautiful pantry space. Friends & family are always ooooing & awwwwing that space.

I canned over 700 jars last year for my family of 6. I have given a lot to my parents but this spring we found ourselves suddenly trying to move. We spent every single extra penny getting our home to sell, and ate a LOT of our canned pantry. It breaks my heart to see it all gone, but that's why it's there. It's food security for when things may happen and money is sparse. Your channel is just beautiful, thanks for sharing your kitchen!

My daughter was remodeling and took out oak cupboards to put in painted onesā€¦yea I knowā€¦.but I asked for themā€¦.we put them back to back as a floor island between our dining area and kitchen they were upper cabinets on one side and base cabinets on the other for canned goods ā€¦..my husband bought a wooden pine butcher top piece from Lowes( before all wood raised in price) and itā€™s a a great counter for glass storage jars I get from Walmart. I keep crackers,,cookies and candy in themā€¦ā€¦my husband is a snacker ā€¦..he quit smoking three months ago šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘Š
Habitat for Humanity often has really nice cupboards in the storesā€¦.often new ones from Loweā€™s in our area. My whole canning/ gathering room in our barn is reclaimed items mostlyā€¦..we bought rough saw boards for the walls but fireplace stones came from his job site before they threw them in the dump, same with oak doors that careless workers left in the weather and we sanded themā€¦..pine paneling in a sitting area were discards from a jobā€¦ā€¦old black iron lights my daughter discarded for new modern ones add a great look. A huge tv cupboard with a shelving units connected to a large base cupboard came from a discard at my son in laws job. I got a lot of stone used for showers and I tiled the top of that base cabinet to have as a counter to put plants on. The wall tv brace was a discard ( brand new) and a large tv was a hand me down from my daughter ā€¦ā€¦Iā€™ve been planning this room for four years and collecting itemsā€¦ā€¦my husband built in a laundry tub sink we have had for fifteen years waiting for a placeā€¦..our old wood burner heats the room and I did buy a thru the wall air conditioner/ heater to maintain the temp when needed since we will entertain and Iā€™ll be canning in there. We made a long counter with open bottom shelfs, and a beverage counter with new wood so it can be cleaned. Walls have old barn beams as shelvesā€¦..I even tiled two large pieces of wood and made hot trays to keep my two electric canners on and protect the birch countersā€¦..a lot of work but itā€™s so nice to walk in and see all we have doneā€¦furnished with old items collected over the yearsā€¦I love I can set my veggies on a old long table and walk back into the house and not have a mess everywhere while I cook dinner.
You canā€™t have running water and a bathroom or your taxes go up here so we ran a hose from the outside spigot inside and eventually will have a instant heater for hot waterā€¦in other room filled with lots of shelfs and fridge and freezer Iā€™m making a small bathroom with two thin walls of pine and a no see thru curtain into a piddle room using a five gallon bucket with seat on topā€¦.an old mirror with a shelf holding hand cleaner and towel ā€¦ā€¦.now having a husband whoā€™s very qualified because he builds log homes helps but anyone can make what they want if you research and hunt savings.
