I have Italian friends and this is a pretty good recipe except he ruined it with all the onions I have no idea why Americans feel that every dish has to be drowning in massive amounts of onions when Europeans make food like this they use Spanish onions which are much smaller and have a sweet taste that are just there to add a little flavor not to overpower the whole thing and make it taste like you're eating a spoonful of onions like you said there's dishes supposed to be comfort food it's supposed to be very soft and creamy you're not supposed to be crunching on a mouthful of onions

My Italian grandmother always mixed her ricotta cheese with her sauce…to this day…I can’t eat ricotta cheese unless it’s mixed with sauce lol…also..she mixed all the cheeses with the ziti first…then she added her sauce…toppings it with a mixture of bread crumbs mixed with cheese and mozzarella…it was so good…I’m making it for Christmas dinner tomorrow…Merry Christmas to you and your family John…May Peace and God follow you into the new year♥️💚♥️💚♥️💚🎅🏼🤶🎅🏼🤶🎁🎄🎁🎄ps…she added butter to the breadcrumb mixture to give it a shell kind of…try it out

I am making it again this weekend for our church’s youth group Christmas dinner. You are a wonder and an excellent teacher!

Use another pasta brand instead of Barilla 🤮 I use De Cecco I get from HEB and it costs just the same.

What would you recommend in lieu of ricotta? It's just not a texture I can appreciate, unfortunately. Unless there's one that isn't so "gritty".
