What do you do when you see your best friend getting really fat? Yesterday I saw my friend after about a month and he’s gained weight!! I try to be an example. But nobody seems to care that I eat a diet of mostly starch, fruits and vegetables and never gain weight. But my friends are all getting so fat!! I wish there was something I can do but they keep eating cheese and meat and pizza and burgers and French fries. I just want to pull my hair out. No!! All that grease and fat is going to kill you!! Don’t you see that?!?!?! 😢😢

One thing you could try is read a few of the success stories from the chat. It could be too technical to play short video testimonials but would be nice. On top of that, I would suggest two or three people join in at the end of the call to share their story.

Dr McDougall, can you please expand on giving your kids the HPV vaccine? I have 3 kids and their doctors, years ago, basically scared me into getting my Kids vaccinated. One of my kids only did 1 or 2 of the shots and never went back for the third.

For AFIB it’s important to note that alcohol increases the risk of AFIB, especially for women.
So stop drinking alcohol, the long term risks outweigh the minor short term stress relief benefit.
For stress relief, try meditation or just going for a relaxing walk.

I had insomnia because of a diagnosed zinc deficiency. High dose of zinc and I was sleeping normally after a few weeks.
I tried lots of stuff – sleep restriction, blackout blinds, eyemask, valerian & other herbs, I even tried two types of prescription sleeping pills. Nothing was working.
I've also heard of zinc being referred to as a risk nutrient for vegans. Just food for thought.

l worry about these protein powder mixes and pills sold in health stores and online for weight lifting, workout muscle body builders. They are teaching the young to drink this stuff and workout. l take it personally because my son is on this stuff and he goes to the gym. l know it's harmful. I see it in his behavior. l don't know how to get him off this crap without continuous arguments. He's been on this posion for many many years. This child is 38. l truly believe this posion is going to destroy him. How does a concern/worried mom like me get through to him before it's too late ? And honestly he was also taking steroid shots years ago….today, lm not sure. l don't have support….it's only me as a parent…. Any suggestions out there Dr. M, or anyone out there ?

RE: Insomnia, that is exactly what my sleep Dr told me "Restricted Sleep Times" Mine started with couldn't go to be before 11 and had to be up by 3am (set alarm) – then if you sleep you can start to slowly move those out. Dr M. is right on when he is talking about how to "help" insomnia. Also, go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even on your days off from work.

I sure appreciate these informative talks. Been learning from Dr McDougall since the 70's when I heard him on AM Northwest TV talk show. My Dad at 46 at the time had 95% blockage and open heart surgery so I wanted to learn how to prevent heart disease. At 66 I am high school weight, hike regularly and no atherosclerosis but have had atrial flutter as had Atrial Septal Defect repair in 1980, an ablation in 2011 and recently atrial flutter again. On Eliquis and a beta blocker now but whole foods plant based no oil diet. Will check out my CHAD score. I may opt for another ablation as I dislike side effects of meds but they did put me back into rhythm. Thanks for clarifying things on this subject matter Dr McDougall and congrats on your award! Well deserved.

RE: Cancer, this is so interesting, it seems I've known and heard of women younger and younger being diagnosed with very low grade cancers going through treatment, I can't help but think if those cancers should have never been caught (go looking for it, gonna find it) and their bodies would have faught it off on their own, I am not saying I'm right, just going of what Mr M states in many of his videos, I wonder if they are over diagnosing is all.

The gain of function studies should be illegal!!!
And there's no retribution for those people & Governments that do that 😡
Where is the Justice against humanity, and the humans inflicted by their creation's.

I would like to add the plastics industries and the chemist & companies responsible for politing our home, our planet.
They should be doing more research on the fungies and micro organisms that can eat plastics….
