    I received an early Xmas gift from my g/son (who lives here and eats my food) on Thursday. After watching your instructions on how to use it, I took the plunge and make Khalúa, which I make every year for us and some friends during the holidays. In spite of my great doubts it turned out great – once I got over my distress over half of it being foam since I didn't figure out how to turn off the blending part, which I did by patiently reheating it in a pot and stirring slowly, then adding the Vodka and waiting until the foam went away. Today I wanted cream of mushroom soup and found this video, so I'm thrilled and heading to the kitchen as soon as I'm done posting you to make early and maybe have it for lunch then dinner too. I also have very sore hand joints and did have a bit of trouble opening it and lifting it since it's so heavy, but a good grip and some careful handling does the trick.

    I made this delicious soup last night. I used crimini mushrooms, because they were the cheapest I could find at the store I shopped at. These are my modifications. I don't use dairy, but love the creaminess of the soup. So, I threw in a good sized handful of raw cashews, and also removed the jalapeno seeds. I also used part vegetable broth, and part filtered water, and thinned it out as needed, at the end. I like mine sort of thick and creamy. Then I accidentally added 1 tsp vs 1/2 tsp of salt, and it actually came out perfectly! I also added maybe 1/3 cup of fresh parsley. However, next time I think I will finely chop the parsley at the end, and top the soup with it, for color and presentation. I served it with gluten free crackers, for crunch, as I'm gluten free. I simply crushed a few in my hand before tossing them into the bowl. Love this recipe. (And by the way, I often use raw cashews, usually soaked in water then drained. I use them for coffee 'creamer', soups, sauces, and 'creamy' salad dressings. I found out about them in a vegan cookbook I saw. Delish, and no dairy involved!). Finally, I ate 2 bowls of this, because it was sooo good!

    this looks amazing, i just ordered the instant pot ace blender plus, i'm definitely going to try this, the one thing i might change though is sauteing the mushrooms first to enhance the mushroom flavor

    I love your videos, but you might want to improve your audio. Ever thought of using a lavalier mic, or a boom mic? You can attach the boom alongside your overhead camera, and connect it to your main A-roll camera. Are you planning on getting the Ace Plus from Instapot?
