I just shopped at costco here on Vancouver Island. Comparing meat prices, and considering converting US to Canadian, I would say that our meat was less expensive.(at least this shopping trip it was). I would have thought it would have been more because of the transportation cost from the mainland to the island. This was an interesting video for me, doing some price comparisons.
