ok, you showed me something.  I've been trying to make something collapsible to boil 12-16 oz water w/ diy alcohol stove.  not satisfied w/my results.  not strong enough to handle heat and pressure of water expansion on side walls.  sagging, leaking, spilling…so make an oven!!  I like it.  on that wider and more stable base you could also boil water. Thanks.

What type of aluminum foil was used? It looked extraordinarily thick and sturdy.
Also, will any rock do or do I have to search for certain ones that won't explode?
I don't know much about rocks.

Why anyone would say this is a lie is beyond me. "The Outback Oven" works on the same principle defused heat, (the rocks on this oven) a pot and reflector. I've made numerous coffee cakes while backpacking. And the "oven" in this video does fit in your pocket. The stove part may not, but it is still smaller than a lot of backpacking stoves.

Thanks for taking the time to make this creative video.

timmie, dont know about you, but whilst out in the field i'ld rather not run the risk of slicing my wrists with a piece of foil. There is only so light you can go before becoming a danger to yourself.
    Your original redbull cans rock!!

It says a folding pot and oven that will fit in your pocket, which it would.
That 'other crap' is the stove, potstand and Heiny tin which you'd be carrying with you on the trail anyway, and as for the stones, oooh, where would you find those on the trail, hmmmm tricky, well thought out response!

Great Video. Here is a idea for you. instead of putting the water and mix in your cooking pot,put the water into the bag that the mix is in and mix it up in there. then pour into the cake pan. It will save time from not having to wash yout cook pot and water if you are in a limited water area. Hope this helps. Hamm 336
