I made this earlier today, and had a little leftover filling. I gotta say this is my new favorite chocolate pudding recipe. The instant coffee makes it incredible. You don't taste coffee but it perks up the flavor of the chocolate if that makes sense.

    Can't wait until it's chilled.

Thanks for doing this video. I need to make this for Thanksgiving, but I'll make it for my sweet husband first. Ooh, the real filling, as opposed to the instant pudding stuff I've been using b/c I didn't know how to make the filling. … Maybe I'll skip the crust and just make the filling. Who am I kidding??? lol

I have an egg separator which is a head and the whites come out of his nose. It’s disgusting and I love it. I bought is from a YouTube thrifter. OMG that looks scrumptious. I was going to make a French silk pie, but I may go this way. This one’s a bit more laborious but I don’t care.

Angela's recipes always rock, even ones I cannot use. FWIW- This is chocolate CUSTARD pie. When ANY eggs are added to a pudding-type recipe, it becomes custard. Sadly, most people under the age of 50-60 do not know this because of the redefinitions of food types and ingredients by "tv" cooks. Pudding came about when there was no eggs available or it was the time of year the chickens were not laying to make custard. It is very hard to find a good chocolate pudding pie recipe today. I had to reinvent it, being allergic to today's eggs. (They are contaminated by soy feeds, even organic eggs.) I still have not experimented with a soy- & flax-free egg substitute in the custard versions.

My sister never cared for chocolate unless it was full of nuts. When asked why (cause who doesn't like chocolate, right?) She said it was because it tasted like coffee. Until then I had never thought about it. Now you see coffee added to all kinds of recipes to enhance the chocolate flavor. Thanks for sharing.

I view many cooking video's some for idea's and some for entertainment. Your channel popped up when I was searching for a easy chicken casserole recipe so I clicked and watched. Your camera positioning is right on like I am in your kitchen looking over your shoulder. I like the fact that you are cooking and not filling the time slot with useless chatter. I liked your style so much I just bought your book on amazon. Looking forward to trying many of your recipes soon. Thanks

Sorry but I was taught by my grandmother to make a true chocolate pie every one has there personal way doing things but a true pie is for too pies 1,2 cup of Hershey powder 2 cups sugar 1 cup all purpose flour or self rising flour 3 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 table spoon vanilla 5 egg yokes and 1 cup or stick butter as u cook it constantly stay with it as when it starts to boil it thicken up very quickly for set to side after pour in pie crust the meringue beat whites of the five eggs in bowl for 3 min use 3 table spoons of sugar adding 1 table spoon at time ad teaspoon of tarter as it begins to thicken add 1 cup of marshmallow fluff and wip till creams up pour meringue on pies put the pie in oven for 10 to 12 min or till it starts brown fluff prevents the meringue from separating while chilling in fridge that my friends is a 87 year old recipe I like your recipe but this one was handed down from my grandmother born in Kentucky Appalachia mountains

I absolutely LOVE the skin on chocolate pudding. Everyone else gripes about it so I go in and scrap off the top for the babies so they can have their pudding. Don't you feel sorry for me? lol
