Thanks you all for your great comments and tips. Belle tried this recipe last night and put just a little cornstarch in and still we both agree – never again. Also we will both try the water bath way. I do that with other things like cream brûlée but I never considered it for this. Will repent and change my ways going forward 🤣. I’m having fun though!!!!

Also, as a mother of 3 boys 21 18 and 16… I think it would be fun to see you cook all 3 brothers favorite dishes your mother made you growing up.
Then ask her what her memory of your favorite dishes were.
Same for Susan and sarah and Luke?

It took my sister and I awhile to figure out how to get a cheesecake not to crack. What works for us it to make sure all ingredients are room temp not cold, and do a water bath. Loving your channel so far. I love watching Sarah’s. We have 10 kids so she passed us up with Peace 😊

If you bake your cheesecake in a water bath, it won’t crack. You use aluminum foil to cover the bottom of your cheesecake pan to keep water from getting in to your cheesecake when you bake it! The cheesecake looks delicious with a nice cup of coffee! Yummy!

It is difficult to open the block cream cheese. I make jalapeños poppers with it and every time I struggle trying to separate the top of the foil like material. Cheesecake looks amazing! Thanks for the recipe and video! Thumbs up!

You two are a fabulous team. No wonder you have prospered! Sarah is going to be interested in your response to the person who liked 10" pans over 9" 😉. I love how you don't mince words. And your dry humor. Now I have three connected channels of one family. Thanks for sharing your lives, your tribe and your camp. It lights up my days ❤❤

I've always put the cheesecake in a water bath. The cheesecake actually sits in the water while baking and ive never had one to crack. But either way delicious

I think maybe you needed to actually cook the cake in a water bath and not just put a pan of water in the oven. You take your cheesecake pan and put it another pan and place both in the oven, then put some water in the outside pan so your cheesecake pan is actually sitting in the water. I also wonder if maybe you mixed the batter for too long. Mixing at such a high speed for so long might add too much air to the batter.

Me again #3, sorry to be back at you again, but While reading about the links you provided in your description, I found that you, Susan, also has a blog called “Embracinglifesseasons”. And So I went there to check it out. Oh my gosh, it is absolutely beautiful. You have done this with absolute perfection. Your words were priceless and unmatched. They touched my heart in an indescribable way. I totally fell in love with it and I will keep coming back to read more. I have one question, at the end of each segment, is there more to read? I tried clicking on it to see but nothing happened, so I thought I would ask. If not, it’s still beautiful and quite satisfying to read, but if there is more, I would sure love to read it. Thanks so much. Sending love, thoughts and prayers to you both♥️🙏♥️

I have seen the pan wrapped in aluminum foil and set right in the water bath. Makings sure water can't get in. You might try that….my Kitchen Aid has been in service since the 70's.
