There was a Mexican restaurant my wife and I loved to visit, but it's no longer in business. They had the most wonderful refried beans which both of us are convinced had a distinct coffee taste. I'm not sure if the coffee overtones are a traditional Mexican method or whether it was a signature dish from this restaurant.
Have you ever made a pinto bean dish with some type of coffee component? I've considered cooking and/or soaking the beans in coffee, but haven't yet tried it. I would love to have expert advice on trying to duplicate the taste in our homemade beans.
Hola +Michelle B. Thanks so much for your comment. I suggest cooking the beans 1st – as if you were cooking beans from the pot, and subsequently transfer to a pot for the rest of the recipe. It will come out absolutely delicious. Please enjoy, and buen provecho.
If I did the beans in a crock pot then i would just cook the tomato mix into the crock pot right?
