Mary, that looks absolutely delicious. I am going to have to try your chicken soup recipe and maybe my husband will be on the mend more quickly. I have been doing a lot of Instapot cooking so I have most all the ingredients on hand so perhaps I will do that tomorrow. Great for the weekend and cold rain here. The bird feeder is darling and my goodness the variety of birds you get is amazing!
Blessings………..thank you for sharing all you do with us….never go away without learning something new. 🙂
Thank you!! I always want to learn how to boil the jars!!
Love your bird feeder. I also due a lot of canning, fruit, veg. soup. spaghetti sauce. Enjoy your videos Mary.
Beautiful jars of chicken broth! I enjoy canning, too. Your soup looked delish! It inspired me to make some! Thanks for sharing!
Do you just boil the chicken backs without salt or anything else added at that time? I add a bay leaf to my chicken soup along with all the ingredients you used. The birds are beautiful, and so is the snow. I’m in Ohio as well.
I love your shirt you are wearing! Is that one of your designs?
Your little birds are darling!!!
THANK YOU! I DO feel intimated to can, but will try it now.
I make homemade chicken soup every Friday for Shabbat service and my kitchen smells delicious and it’s very healthy!shalom from Colorado 🇮🇱💙
Would love to see more canning videos!!🤗
Why waste so much celery?
Enjoyed watching u do ur chicken broth,Love canning myself.. but wow what a lovely sight are those birds and such a ray of colors.. beautiful creation of God.. thank u for sharing
Do you use the chicken meat for other meals? How long will the broth last? Is this an easy thing to start with if you’ve never canned before? I would really like to try!
Wow! Brought back memories of “putting up” food with my mother and grandmother. Living near the Atlanta
State Farmers Market, I remember riding up and down the rows with my mom and grandmothers negotiating with the farmers! Bargains going home and the canning and freezing began. Lots of shelling on the porch with my grandmother and prepping with my mom. Looked forward to eating the preserved food. Sure miss those days and those ladies!
Love to see more canning videos.
Love the birds
I enjoyed this video. I have always been intimidated by canning.
I guess I dont understand the difference between hot water bath and cold pack.
Loved this Mary! Way back in my early 20's I canned vegetables from the garden and farmers market and even made homemade jelly. A rollover truck accident took away a lot of memory and I completely have forgotten how to can food. My great-grandmother, grandmother and mother have all passed away so I have no one I really trust to re-teach me. I know there are dozens of YouTube videos to watch and lots of people with food "blogs" but I have trust issues regarding food safety. But Mary, I would trust you to teach me how to do anything! So, anytime you want to make a canning video, you can bet I will be watching and taking notes! I would also buy your canning videos on DVD in your Etsy shop! (Hint)
Thank you again Mary for a great video and only you can make canning look so pretty in your beautiful kitchen.
Do you remove the rings before storing your canned goods?
What did you do with the chicken you made the broth with?
My mom canned the same way…and I remember as a child us waiting for the "pop" and counting how many still had to pop. Thank you for causing that memory!
Thank you thank you!! I absolutely do not like pressure cookers, but enjoy canning! Would dry beans work too?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the process. Would love to see a video on the home made suet!
Thank you for this video! I've always wanted to try canning but I've been worried I'll do it wrong… questions: so you didnt ad anything to the broth to preserve it? And how long will this broth last?
I remember that "ping" so well as a child, watching my grandma do her canning. I miss it so very much! Thank you for sharing this today, Mary! It brought back fond memories! And my grandma has been on my mind so much lately!
Such beautiful birds visiting you! Also a reminder of my grandma!
