I love watching you. You explain things so well. You show your mistakes and fixes. I would love for you to talk more about your freeze dryer. I just got mine 4 days ago. I have it set up in the garage (we just moved 3 weeks ago and it's still chaos here) I'm turning my garage into my pantry. But I haven't done my bread run yet. I'd love to hear what you've encountered if anything as far as issues you've had. I did get the large. And changed out an outlet for it. Keep up the great work. You're amazing.

    Hi Becky

Its not only bug damage. That kind of raddish gets hollow when they get to big of when it got to warm to quick. The start bolting and get hollow. I tried them 2 years not and the are very sensitive. I never had bugs in them but they where often hollow when I harvested

Hi Becky, I greatly admire all you are able to accomplish! Something I always do when refilling my containers is emptying the container and pouring the newest and freshest spices, condiments, flours, etc at the bottom of the container and oldest on top. It is an extra step but that way I go through the older product first and it doesn't continue to age endlessly at the bottom of the container.

You don't need a dehydrator to dry herbs. You can use your car. Put herbs in a paper bag ''throw them in the back seat" and wait a week. Park in a shaded area (parking garage, garage, under a tree. It does take longer but works great. Crack the windows if needed. It's the only way I do herbs and small peppers now. (peppers may take longer) It's free!! and turns out perfect!!!! So if you don't have a dehydrator…you have another option.

We make a kale popcorn with dried kale, salt and red pepper flakes, makes a great low carb snack! I love kale! Thanks for showing us about the rhubarb! That makes it so much easier for when you want to use it! I too want to make multiple rhubarb recipes! You already have a great mini harvest! It’s so satisfying when we can grow, harvest and use our own healthy food! I can’t wait to grow and dry some chamomile for tea! I’m also learning how to make preventative herb medicines with homegrown herbs!

I got so excited when you turned on the freezer dryer! It was kind of like being right there 😃 Oh no I'm a harvest junkie now!!! I have a ton of yellow squash from my Dad's garden that I need to process so now I'm ready. Oh and his radishes had root rot last year…. It was a wet season here in Virginia and it was maggots.

I was so excited to see how you were going to preserve the rhubarb but what exactly did you do with it after you vacuum sealed it? Did you freeze, refrigerate, freeze dry, or shelve it? I can't imagine just shelving it unless it was to be used within a day or two! And I can't wait to see your rhubarb bbq recipe!!! Blessings from Indy 💜🙏💜

Have you ever heard of crushing the raspberry leaves a little and then fermenting them in a jar in the sun for 2-6 weeks, then dehydrating them for tea. It’s supposed to retain the nutrients better 😉

With raw kale, you can get the bitterness out but massaging it with olive oil and salt for 5-10 mins. It’ll get darker and is absolutely delicious in salads after that 😍

I just want to say, what a beautiful, inspirational young lady you are! My husband and I were worried about a possible food shortage, so we started container gardening on our little deck (our yard is too rocky for in-ground beds) I stumbled onto some of your videos about a month ago, and have just fell in love watching how much you get done! Good luck in your new dream home, it looks absolutely LOVELY!

I grow French breakfast radishes every year, to me it looks like they were woody and that usually means they were left in to long. That could be why the bugs got to them? Just a guess.

I wonder if it's an American thing to wash eggs because I've always been taught that you shouldn't do that (unless they're REALLY soiled) as it will take out the natural coating and allow more bacteria in? 🤔

    Another wonderful video, Becky 😘😘

Not sure if you know it or not but the lower tray takes the longest to freeze dry so I will put things that require less time on the bottom such as the mint you did.
