Rendang is a very very rare treat for me, and I just purchased an intant pot this past week. I've got access to all of your ingredients. I will be blending the ginger/garlic/onion. I would also like to see some tamarind in the brew. Much as I love sirloin, I think I would go with london broil – very tasty but tough meat. The pot should handle that with flying colors. All in all, it looks great! Thank you.

We absolutely LOOOOOVE our Instant Pot.>>>ur2.pl/1046 We got it on Prime day and have used it every day since. Like most people, we fell into a rut of making the same meals over and over. The Instant Pot has opened up a whole new world for us. We are still discovering new recipes and having a lot of fun. If you are considering one of these, don't hesitate. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Should you not blend all your ingredients into a paste before you add them to the IP? If you look at the other videos on Malaysian or Indonesian Rendang Curry, none of them have any curry sauce and all are almost dry. Yours looks like normal curry beef? Perhaps you could continue sauteing the curry till all the gravy is gone and the beef is caramelized dark brown. Also most of the others cook their coconut flakes till they are brown and then pound them in a pestle before they add it to the mix. I' going to try cooking rendang in the IP but reduce the time to 25 minutes and then continuing cooking in the saute mode till all the gravy is gone.

Update: Yesterday I decided to cook the Malaysian Beef Rendang in my Instant Pot and I cook my beef for 14 minutes so it won't be "falling of the bone", then use Natural release and start the saute on middle pressure and continue cooking till all the curry liquid sauce is dried. I also added the toasted coconut flakes a few minutes before the curry dries. and the result is exactly like the traditional rendang and tasted great.
I took some pictures but unfortunately can"t seem to post it on my message here.
