I'm a new subscriber…and I totally relate to a lot of what you say. It's not the healthcare system, it's the sick care system. Because my grandmother died from diabetes and my mother was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 16, I spent my life following the American Diabetes Association diet..diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 34, unexpectedly at the age of 40 I had a failed triple bypass then 3 stints, was started on insulin shots, and several heart/blood pressure medications and a statin. I was always pudgy and gained weight from the insulin. At 44 I learned about keto, weighed in at 235 at 5'8", an a1c of 7.6 with 4 insulin shots a day. I immediately stopped the statin, lost 10 pounds of water weight in the first 3 days, weaned off of all insulin shots within 6 weeks, weaned of of all heart/blood pressure medications within 6 months.(with the exception of plavix and aspirin because of the stints) The first year I lost 40 pounds, the second year I lost 30 pounds. My a1c is currently 5.7. I'm currently weighing in at 165 pounds. I'm losing about a pound a week with OMAD and occasionally doing an extended fast, 48-72 hours. I might lose another 10-15 pounds over time but I'm happy with all the progress…the weightloss, reversed diabetes and still healing myself with food from 44 years of eating foods that were/are poisonous. Now, I'm totally focused on using food for medicine. I'm looking forward to your video about herbs and spices. I'm learning that certain herbs and spices have very good healing properties. šŸ˜

Lol, "we should have colors", too funny!
I also don't have a problem with Weight Watchers, their system helped me see how massive my portion sizes were! I lost 50 lbs using ww then started having issues sticking with it because of hunger and I just couldn't rein in those weekends.

I started on Monday but I'm actually counting today as day 1 because I wasn't able to be 100% until today. I plan on doing a month of clean/basic eating, I've been keto/carnivore for 18 months now and the bad stuff just sneaks in so easily! I've had a headache for the past couple days so yeah, I'm ready to be hardcore šŸ‘
Also, so frustrating when people are like, "It's just a little bite!" Yeah, just a little bite turns into a mental battle for the next few days!

After 20 months on Keto I just started weighing my food and tracking macros (20% calorie deficit, two-mad, < 30g carbs/day)… lost 5 lbs in the past 10 days. Hate tracking macros but for me, it's necessary.

So I unfollowed a while ago from all diet / food or like "diet culture " influencers not offense to you but I'm back because I have come to a space in my mind where I can mentally but I started rewatching when you started the no bullshit keto because that's what I'm doing only Whole Foods and nothing packaged and dairy free because I felt like I was dying every day with the amount of gut issues I have also I have insulin resistance due to PCOS and mentally I was comparing myself to a lot of people so you have inspired me to come back and watch and thank your for sharing your story I'm down 10 lbs and feeling so much better

To really understand if you are in Ketosis, you should look at the GKI, which takes into account your ketones and blood sugar numbers. Look at the Keto Mojo website and they explain it.

I am happy for you that you are seeing what you need to see. LOL I get accused of that too. I live 2 hours from Chicago. I try to remind myself, being diabetic, to make sure my blood sugar levels are most important. If weight drops off, that is a bonus. I had to remind my doctor a couple weeks ago that I want and am actively trying to get off medications. I am realistic and know I will need certain meds for the rest of my life for things like my heart flushing. That is a malfunction I have had all my life. It isn't because I got fat. So that is different. I can get off meds that I am on because I did put weight on. That is in my power. My oldest son is realizing he has the power to get off of meds he is on because of his weight. He is 317 today and has lost from 355 and he has cut his metformin in half! I am so proud of him. He had pulled both shoulders out of place and was off work for 3 months. I took him and got him doing lower carb higher fat and protein. And he was shocked he wasn't hungry and it has helped him drop weight. He is doing better mentally and physically. I couldn't watch my son go down hill. I had to help him and be a role model for him. Help him stay on track. I am so glad for you that you did figure out what was and wasn't working for you. Keep it up. And thatnks for making these videos!

I like your thoughts on health and nutrition; as dr. Berg says; first focus on health and weight loss comes after. The most important thing is to feel good, with energy, mental clarity, focus and if low carb or keto helps, keep doing it. Each person is different and we need to find what works for us

Ignore the keto police. I love Hellmanā€™s (itā€™s called best foods on the west coast). It is the bees knees. Many Drs agree, do whatā€™s in your budget. Loving your new approach. šŸ„°

"from Minnesota" If I had to guess, it's the way you say your O's. I lived in MN for most of my life and now live out west and get busted on my pronouncement of words with O's frequently and just giggled when they say it now.

You look not only slimmer but also just healthier. I love on Keto how the skin just looks so fresh. And our eyes open up!! On sugar carbs itā€™s like we are swollen and poisoning ourselves.

Hi Danielle, congratulations on your wins last week. It gets easier to say no thank you when you visit your family. Last week I lost 1.6 lbs currently 173.7 lbs. I was stalled but since I've been IF and started a light workout it's been going down. I purchase the organic and grass-fed only when it's on sale. I can't afford it either and I've lost weight anyways.
