    Your soup looks great! I make it sorta kinda like that, but I cook the beans plain. Soaked beans cook tender in about 9 minutes in an Instapot. After cooking I rinse with cold water to make them less gassy, then add water to desired soupyness (not a real word), salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, hot pepper flakes, a little maple syrup, and worstershire sauce. Mix in some chopped spinach and cooked rice, throw on some hot salsa and enjoy. I usually eat it with either heated tortillas or tostitos.

    The only thing I do differently, is I bring the beans to a boil until the first foam appears (two or three minutes) then I pour off that water , rinse again and then proceed to season and cook the beans. I found that they never make you tooty if prepared this way..
    As far as seasoning goes, we’re pretty much on the same page in the same playbook.
    BTW, I’ve been playing around with plain rice vinegar in soups. It’s sweet as vinegar goes. You may like it.
