I'd love to see Sean survive into winter myself … as for increasing the zombies; please keep it reasonable – I've quit watching several Zomboid content creators because they do nothing but combat. I'm not sure why but they seem to think 30+ minutes of nothing but the squelching of the weapons they're using impacting zombies is entertainment.
Instead of using that to increase difficulty, I'd recommend adding mods so you could do more with it instead. But that's just me.

Keep trying to get Sean killed but not on purpose. Move out further maybe too a different are on the larger map to explore

Can You fill your canteen with anything other than water? Make it a flask?
