Serious question. I used to subscribe to the rest theory, but now i don't. Reason being is that all those wonderful juices escape said meat when resting. So i cut it and eat it rightvaway along with those wonderful juices. Is there science around the resting theory ?

The problem with this is, all the best steaks I've had were at japanese steakhouses. They cut it up into strips while it's cooking on a griddle and, somehow, it's perfect every time. I go to texas roadhouse and there's a 30% chance the steak will be decent or it'll be 50% gristle. Maybe the japanese steakhouses pick better cuts. I dunno.

I hate when people say there is inly one way to cook your meat luie Rare, mid-rare or well done…
The only wrong way is to cook it the way you don't like it.

What about plant based vegan steaks? How do I get all of those cancer-causing chemicals to taste like a real steak? I want meat-based vegetables too.

Hard to respect the opinion of someone that weak. You can keep the opinions to yourself because I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people that would love to still be alive that didn't get a choice in the matter

I take it off the grill medium rare with a nice seared outside and flop em right on my wife and kids plates. And by the time they get done f***ing around with tater salads and cracking beers rhat steak has rested enough.

The biggest mistake you can make when cooking steak is to tell someone your fixing to do a documentary on missing children in Haiti involving the Clinton Foundation.

Great tip. One more thing. Get a small resting rack to keep it off the cutting board. Wood is an insulator. The steak will keep cooking at a higher rate right on the cutting board than it would completely in the air. And it keeps the side against the cutting board from steaming as well
