Absolutely beautiful. Sorry, I had to chuckle at your ant berry experience. BTW, holly berries should not be eaten. They cause nausea, etc. I think that's worse than the ant ♡. Be well.

I have heard many stories about berry picking from husband growing up in Oregon. The kids would eat so many, they wouldn't have a big haul for their mother to make pie. This was 70 years ago, and I'm happy the berries still grow wild all over the place.

It's definitely time for a blackberry cobbler. My aunt used to make them for me when I was a little girl. I asked her one time how she made it so good and she said she put just the right amount of love in it. I miss her.
The property is beautiful and I can't wait to see your garden next year. You'll probably have to get a bigger freezer for all the produce you get.

Brings back memories of my childhood with my grandmother. I always got so many chiggers, nasty little biting bugs. She would stew some for breakfast and we would split a biscuit open and put juice on both sides.

Your property is like a cabin in the woods used for vacation . BlackBerry picking should always be done with children they are at the right height to get the good ones under leafs. What a view you have so relaxing and sitting listening at night and the mornings are one of my favorite things to do.

Boy, I would have given my eye teeth to have lived in such a wonderful place as you have when growing up. I LOVED the country life!
I wonder what your kids would say if you asked them about moving back to where you were?
Why did the former owners move out?

Can never have enough Blackberries. Indigo please be careful. My brother was stung many times from Hornets that made a nest in the BlackBerry bushes that a friend had growing on his property.
