This guy's sing-song wants me to hang myself like that guy in airplane. Is he for real?
I make it and omg it was amazing
Is really good
Made this today and it really was delicious. Only difference, I added some fresh mushrooms I needed to use while still good. Will make this again.
Thats some greasy lookin shit
I might actually have to make your version, I watched it, because it came up as a suggestion after Tuna Casserole, (My favorite dinner), goulash was the one I HATED, my folks version was a LOT simpler, mostly hamburger, with mostly raw onion, stewed tomatoes, and macaroni. When given a choice on going to bed without supper, I RAN!!! Yours looks a darn sight more tasty, although, I think I'll still cook the onion a wee bit more, I am after all, the Paul Bunyan, of cooking that darn onion!!!😃😃😃
OMG… I just finished making this. It is absolutely delish! I added some bell peppers, corn and 2 cans of bushes red beans.
I also used beef broth instead of chicken. Otherwise I made it exactly like you did. I'm sitting here full and satisfied.
I make this and make mashed potatoes.. corn…cornbread. Such a good meal.
It’s funny how we all grow up with different versions of goulash. My mom made an “okra goulash” which I loved. It was similar to this without pasta and we ate over rice. Probably influenced by southern cooking and gumbos since we lived in Houston not too far from Louisiana. The first time I experienced an American goulash similar to what is shown here I was very confused. Since it reminded me of American style spaghetti. Whatever you call it, I love all versions. Ha!
You cheated Chef John. You started off with elbow macaroni…but your finished product in the video showed an elbow macaroni with ridges. Either way….I love your videos. And this is exactly how my Mom made Goulash. She always added cheese!
I grew up in New England where this is called American chop suey or mushy gushy!
Yep. Beefaroni, but the 'healthy' version of Beefaroni. It's very close to my "Homemade Healthy Hamburger Helper" recipe..
EXCELLENT
Chef John, I have enjoyed most all of your recipes. There are a couple of things that Ido not enjoy: broccoli and chitlins. I believe both of them were invented by Democrats! yuck!
The soy sauce added a great flavor, I used beef broth instead of chicken, what a meal. Thanks.
HOT or Sweet Paprika?
We called it American chop suey , the kids in our state would not have eaten a goulash just by the sound of its name
Thanks Chef John! Scoring some serious wifey points with this recipe. One of my hubby's favorites!!
My mother did a ground beef version in the early '60s or so, hers with green bell pepper. She entered and had it published in the local paper. It was good, and I endeavored to copy it, but this blazes a flavor trail, no question. Thank you!
this is hamburger helper with cheese…..
Get you some saltines and you're good to go!
Did you have like 99.9% ground beef, how did you end up with no fat/grease at the end of cooking the ground beef
Is anyone else driven insane by this guys inflection, cannot stand the way every fucking sentence ends on that repetitive down note.
Can you mix beans with pasta? Too starchy!
…a lot of salt!
What’s with the weird way this guy talks? Is it a you tube thing?
I have tried to watch his vids…seems his recipes might be good…but I can't with his weird sing-songy speech pattern…DRIVES ME INSANE! However, continued success to you!
