Thanks, I'm just getting into experimenting with instant mashed potatoes. Lots of options. Say have you ever used dried shrimp from Mexican Grocery store? Not sure what their intended purpose are, but i add them with ramen,curry,ginger,hot sauce, and powdered peanut butter. Any other ideas?

I thought you might be interested–I found this product at a couple stores: "Wild Planet shredded beef" (there's a regular and no added salt). Might be pretty good with one of your recipes there. It's a bit pricey but not like Mountain House.
I live in Southwest Kansas. I have to carry all my water anyway. I've even taken the canned new potatoes. We pack everything out, still taste delicious!
