I love videos like these but man, they always include beans which my family hates. It’s so hard when every video focuses on beans and rice 😢 my family would rather eat grass than beans and rice every night

I have never cooked p with lentils. I had an old doctor tell me I should eat lentils and legumes. And not to eat pork. But I didn’t listen to her. I still eat what I want. And our grocery bill keeps going up. We now have one of my granddaughters staying with us. And my oldest granddaughter, her boyfriend and my great grandson will be here in about ten days. So I’m going to have a house full. The girls are vegetarians. And my great grandson doesn’t have any teeth yet, that I know of. And we will have the rest of the family when the weekend comes. So my husband will be making another grocery run. But he never does it on a budget.

Love your eyelashes! Well,we,re cooking at home almost totally. Were afraid of getting this new virus. Everybody has it here. Your cooking looks good. Great ideas. We had roast…then turned it into vegetable soup. Froze some. Yes,those chicken drumsticks look great. We did stop at a small place after fishing this week. It was $10 for vegetable soup,a grilled cheese sandwich, and a drink. Isn,t that awful?

Hi Julia! Thank you for making videos like this. I'm always looking for good crockpot recipes since I don't get home from work until 6:00 or a little after. And with grocery prices going up and up it's nice to see a budget friendly video. Have a great week! God bless you!

Thank you for your effort and hard work in showing both young and older cooks how to eat well, feed their family on a budget. I think your emphasis on what is leftover and how to use it the following week is so important. It's the strict budget person's way to slowly build up a pantry of basic supplies that can make cooking meals both easier and more versatile. Some people don't think that way, but it a very important skill/approach that can be taught and learned. Blessings!

Your ideas are interesting, sometimes inspirational. I have a hard time watching though because you provide information as facts that are not well thought out or researched. One of the examples in this video are your taco bowls. You state they’re very high protein due to the black beans. The black beans in that meal only provide around 25g of protein & the rice maybe another 12g. That’s like 37g for the whole pot. That is not a very high protein meal unless one person is eating the whole thing. An adult meal should have around 15-30g.

I strongly urge you to either do your research or quit tossing in false/misleading information.

Thanks Julia. I was quite surprised to see plastic shopping bags. Here in New Zealand they have been banned for a number of years now. Also banned are the plastic bags in the produce section. If you want to put veggies or fruit into a bag they can go into a paper bag or straight into the trolley.
