2007 Throwback Snake Soup In Hong Kong – Glen And Friends Cooking In 2007 Julie and I (and a crew) flew to Hong Kong to shoot a job for the Hong Kong …
So it's the normal "It tastes like chicken" lol
Snake, alligator, squirrel and all sorts of atypical meats are eaten in rural and southern parts of north america by people of many ethnic backgrounds. Just pointing that out for the comment section bigots.
Thanks for the throwback, Glen. It was interesting.
Weβre those monocle cobras? Were they de-fanged? Good heavens, those things are absolutely deadly with a single bite.

Super Crazy!
the unmistakable atmosphere of the early 2000s seemed to be consistent throughout the world
Thank-you! I like seeing what the rest of the world has for dinner.
I look forward to another throwback episode in Hong Kong that you have visited a local hawker shop. So I can show it to my friend's mother who is the owner of that shop.
P.S. Some Cantonese foul language in the background at 3:55 which means literally "I slept with your mom", maybe it is your thoughts to your local guide when you taste the soup lol π
Glen, would you eat a bat? I enjoy rattlesnake but it needs to be deep fried.
So… were you trying to sell a show? Also I'm guessing it didn't get picked up. So can we have it lol.. let's see the Glen and fiends travel show!!!!
I think Iβll pass on the nope rope soup!
so young. you look like a fetus! ππ

In winter time if the bowl is legit, you will immediately feel βwarmβ after a few spoon full but sometimes we joke that most of the meat is probably just chicken and pork shreds
For archived filming and with you as the one being recorded – is Julie manning the camera or are you still setting up tripods/handheld for shots (similar to how you are filming the plane videos)?
If it was a venomous snake, would there be a risk after it was cooked?
Hehehe! Tastes like chicken!
I was waiting for that one!
I am grateful I have never had to eat a snake. It's interesting, but not something I would want to do.
Nope, just could't do it.
I know itβs cultural and everyone has to eat. This however puts me off Iβll see you in the next one
No way I could have tried it
Dear Glen, I love you and your show, but I could never bring myself to eat a reptile. I lack the Chinese penchant for exotic protein. Frankly,, you didnβt look too happy eating that bowl of soup.
See you some other time. Have phobia about snakes. Saw Glen & Friends & clicked to open. Broke the speed of light clicking off.
Chinese fetish for protein makes them eat anything that lives. Whether its illegal fish hunting around Indian Ocean, African coast or even bats.
That flower is chrysanthemum, which is "cold" in the Chinese medicine sense and balances out the "heat" in snake, and that herb is lime leaf, which adds a refreshing flavour. And to me those crisps are a must. Now in snake soup shops we seldom see live snakes as most of them have switched to frozen, giving your video historical significance.

I'm sorry, you really did seem a bit freaked our about eating snake!
Idgaf how many precautions have been taken to make them snakes nonlethal, that lady's nonchalant demeanor is hardcore "okay? π you done? Want me to pose them?"
