I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting about your candida situation. Thanks to your video, I now know what the heck is wrong with me. Last month I completed a 21 day fast to clear the overgrown and felt SO MUCH BETTER. I was sleeping through the night for the first time in years, I had energy, my brain was no longer foggy… However, as soon as I started adding back veggies, ALL my symptoms came back almost instantly. It's so devastating, but at least I know why that happened and what I must do to fix it. Luckily I don't have to fast again! You're a lifesaver, thank you. You and your bread are helping me make it through. One question. Can you tell me WHY I can't have citric acid on the cleanse? It's in all my electrolyte drinks!
Just giving into to the sugar beast for the xmas period after that back on the wagon….phone sounds like clapping total clap abstinence clap is clap better clap than clap moderation clap, then realise what you said earlier…….
I started eating carnivore (BBBE) on the 15th to help get through the holidays. I find abstaining easier. My goal is to stay eating this way through the end of January. Taking Christmas day as a keto day then back to carnivore
Wishing you and your sweet little family a very Merry Christmas!
I am an obstainer. π―%. What does that mean to me?
I've lost 205 pounds. Only 25 lbs from my goal. Do you think I could consider moderating now?
Great video Nil! Very informative as well. I totally agree with on Keto for feeling so much better in every way. Iβve been doing keto for 4 years & itβs so second nature to me that I donβt even have to think of how to navigate it anymore. But I do fast for 24 hrs from time to time to sort of reset my body after indulgences of holidays etc. God Bless & Merry Christmas to you & your Family!!β€οΈπ
Another great saying – "out of sight out of mind". If it's not in my home I'm not tempted. After cravings dissapear, I'm good. Eventually, I don't want it anymore. I've had friends who would close their eyes and just smell the food they crave for a bit (crazy I know). They felt like they ate their craved food & no longer wanted the "real" food. That's too.much of a temptation for me. :;-) As always, great suggestions & insight on what works for you. Be well.
I have been keto since 2009 and carnivore since 2013 so I have had a lot of time to get my bearings and to know what I can or can't moderate. I have been at my ideal High School weight and size for years. The plan that works for me is a hybrid of abstinence and moderation depending on the food item. Three categories of non-animal foods.
1)Things that are 100% off the menu permanently: Not foods IMO
Any and all plant babies (that is seeds, nuts, beans, and grains)
Anything made from or with plant babies (flour products, seed oils, tofu, nut flours/butters, allulose)
All refined sugar and fake sweeteners
All fake ingredients such as colorings, MSG, etc.
All starchy roots/tubers
Sugary tropical fruits and fruit juices
Nightshade veggies (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, etc.)
2)Foods that I don't eat because I don't like them (no need to hold myself back) :
Green leafy veg
All cruciferous veg
Most all green veg such as asparagus, celery
I tried squash recently and decided I don't know why I used to like it
I really don't like the all natural sweeteners like monk fruit and stevia (blech)
3)Things I like and find I can moderate :
Low sugar fruits such as berries, tart apples, carob, lemon
Non sweet fruits such as olives, avocado, cucumber, coconut
Mushrooms
Seaweed
Onions and garlic
Condiments such as pickles, capers, mustard, mayo (no sugar or seed oils in them)
Spices (minus the nightshade peppers)
Teas (green and herbal)
SO well said. Absolutely true. I wonder how many strict carnivores have kids, too. It's really hard with little ones. My daughter is grown and it's so much easier now.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you for a great video.
Merry Christmas ππππ
Yep, Dr. Robert Cywes the carb addiction doc says that exactly, addiction doesn't mean you can have this in moderation, like alcohol you can not have any ever! You are right on. cravings are why I am not where I want to be, foods are in the house that I shouldn't be eating but I have no control. moderation might be possible if you are at your goal weight. Thanks for your input.
Great message! Iβve never been an emotional eater, but when I do indulge occasionally, I begin to get cravings again, just as you said. So, I have learned to keep my indulgences few and far between. Thank you for your βrealnessβ Nili! I am enjoying your videos. And your versions of bread have been a wonderful addition to my food repertoire. π
I agree! Total abstinence is definitely easier for me than moderation, moderation often become a slippery slope. I find going Carnivore for a little bit is a great way to reset and rein in cravings after holiday indulgence.
Thank you for this Wellness Wednesday. I love hearing about your progress. Sending love & hugs & Christmas wishes to you & your family ππβ₯οΈππβ₯οΈππβ₯οΈ
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Love your videos-I'm learning so much!
WOW GRRRL! You were killing softly me with Your song; telling my whole life with Your words π HAHAHAHA
Yup for us addicts there can be no compromise with substance.
Regardless of the amount or how long I am abstinent, it awakens those deep pathways.
Even if it is keto I will indulge as if it were the real thing! Sad but true.

I've been working on this same thing and it is hard. But total abstinence for certain foods is too extreme unless you're deathly allergic. In my mind it becomes a new addiction when you limit your food so severely. I think it's fine for short periods, but I hope to live for at least another 50 years and I don't wanna live all that time in severe restriction. So I totally agree with you using abstinence as a short term tool to help you achieve moderation which is the ultimate goal. Did you even try other kamut wheat or other ancient grain flours like emmer, spelt ect? If so did they also hurt you? I haven't tried them yet, but they are so genetically different from the commercially available wheat today that I wanna give them a try. Lol
There is peace in removing choices. Willpower is only needed when there's actually a choice to be made. Dr. Westman says we crave what we eat.
Yes, that noise is annoying but I ignored it as much as I could. What you were talking about was more interesting so it didnβt bother me that much. I wonder why it happened.
Merry Christmas to you and the tribe. I hope it is a wonderful holiday – filled with all the goodies you decide to indulge in.
Hmmmmm, Santa's workshop, little hammer noise?
Well said. Feel very much the same. Consistency for me is 80% clean and 20% relaxed. Iβve found an incredible amount of success and empowerment knowing I can find good health and enjoy those occasional times out of bounds. I donβt go far or it does make me feel bad and being aware of that stops the snowball effect. And I love diving deep again. Doing BBBE 1 Jan for 90 days and looking forward to it. Merry Christmas π!
