    Malaysians do this a lot. We call it maggi mee goreng. Maggi noodles are just the common name we give to instant noodles as maggi was the prevalent brand. “Mee goreng” = fried noodles. Mee is the Hokkien word for noodles and became part of Malay and Indonesian. Mee in Malay and Mi in Indonesian. And sometime we throw in the seasoning from the packet for some MSG goodness…

    I think a big part of this dish having wok hei is also due to the choice of the wok. This is where many of us may only have non stick ones. I'd love to keep one such carbon steel wok but maintenance is real tough. Is Chef Lau able to advise us in a future video?

    This might be the first time I've seen Mr. Lau using an actual wok for cooking. I was wondering why he was using Teflon pans in many of your episodes.
