Thank you for sharing your driving test experiences. I'm the opposite, from California and retired in Japan. Even though I had 40 years of safe driving experience in California, I still had to pass a short written test, and driving test. The driving test is a little different. First it's done on a off-road track that simulates street driving instead of the public road. There are a few other differences, but I passed on my second try. Anyway, congratulations of your new Texas drivers license!
