This video is full of super helpful ideas and hacks to prevent food waste. I loved it! Thanks Immy for sharing all of your precious knowledge with us. Btw, I also LOVE your skilled girl summer series! I feel so inspired and also relaxed to just start somewhere instead of trying to be an expert from the beginning. Failing often helps us find our own individual way through life. I really like that and appreciate your way of thinking. 😊✌

I really like how you said to use what hacks and tips we can and leave the rest – I feel like that's such a gentle and reassuring approach! also, aquafaba works amazing in a chocolate mousse, I've made it so many times!

if you have a community garden near you check if they have a compost bin you are allowed to contribute to! i take my compostable waste to my community compost since i garden there anyways 🙂

This might be a stupid question but to make apple cider vinegar, what liquid did you put the apple scraps in? Is it just vinegar that you're flavouring with apple or is it water or something that turns into vinegar?

I do all the things pls wasting. I like the idea of a food waste journal. I menu plan and meal prep. I don't always eat everything before they go off and it breaks my heart. It's a learning process.

Another great tip I got from Nigella once it to pour left over wine into an ice-cube tray and freeze it. Then just pop one or two to deglaze your pan. It's so useful to have these on hand when recipes call for red wine, but you don't want to open a bottle.

Oh my goodness, Immy that was tip-tastic. I'm going to have to watch it a few times and save to my favourites. Thank you so much. What a bloody brilliant video!!!. If anyone has left over Mars bar or similar squishy chocolate and not full bottle of vodka… cut of the Mars bar, pop it in the vodka bottle, put the top on TIGHTLY and then next time you run the hot cycle on your dishwasher, just pop the bottle in.the Mars bar will melt and you'll have chocolate toffee vodka. My 70something Mum told me this 😊

Lots of great ideas. Some of which I do already. However the cost of electricity (at least here in the UK) is so high that using an oven is very expensive. We don't really use ours now. How about examples of how to do some of these things 'low power' ways? That would be great

Oh thank goodness for my frugal upbringing!! Nope, I never would have said this as a young person, but as an adult… my oh my, do I ever appreciate my parents who would not let us waste food or any other items in the house. Backyard garden, compost bin behind the garage, reusables, tuppers full of left-overs, and every little item was saved, reused, and stretched to the max!! These habits have stayed with me all my life. Isn’t is funny how we adopt the habits of our upbringing, even tho’ we may not have loved them when we were young and knew it all… haha!🤣 Ima loving Vlogus, Immy!! TYSM!! Ⓜary💕

This sort of education should be compulsory at schools! Along with visits to landfill, so people can have a better understanding of how out actions impact the environment. Thank you for keeping it realistic and for your nonjudgmental attitude 😊

I think everybody will agree… food prices are INSANE!! We need to get the most out of our food… from peels to scraps to every little fibre and crumb. These food waste hacks are super useful as well as good for the planet and the wallet. Thanks, Immy, for all these tips and reminders. Now if you’ll excuse me… I’m off to make some bruised banana muffins🍌. Mmm… muffins!! Ⓜary💕

I looooove Vlogust already! Daily Immy content is unmatched hehe. Thanks for these tips and hacks, I have so much room for improvement when it comes to saving food scraps and using them for other things! Although we do have a compost, so most scraps end up being used to grow new food once it‘s all composted. Either way, it‘s great to have a few more ideas! 😊
