We got the tree up — well out of the box and plugged in…and really thinking we’ll call it enough for this year. I love the slightly moody discussions and just ‘do whatever works for you’ vibe. I love fall/late fall — all dying ok with me — as cold, rainy (or snowy), and dark is my favorite time of year. Mac/Cheese for my go to comfort food. Just loving you two and our daily bits of chat.❤

Wow! This one was so much fun to watch, because I could relate to a couple of things. First, growing up in rural central Indiana, chicken and noodles was a staple of our diet especially during the winter. My mom made homemade egg noodles as did a lot of moms where I grew up. Second, I can relate to Jana's cat issues. One our cats, Otis, loves to chew paper (especially envelopes with the cellophane window), foam blocking squares, socks, and cardboard boxes. Whenever I block something I have to cover it with a sheet, and tuck the sheet in under the edges of the blocking squares so the Otis can't chew them!

What a mood!! Haha. You guys are great. BTW, you can measure any millimeter using a bolt gauge. Much like a needle gauge but lots more holes. Not sure that'll help find the other needles but it's an option for measuring. Can't wait for tomorrow!

A thought for Anne re the unmarked needles. If you have an electronic vernier calliper anywhere at home, you can just measure the diameter of the needle using that. And if you know where the vernier calliper is kept – you won't have to search the house for the other needles. I bought mine for accurate gauge measurement. Really not expensive (about £15-20 on the ubiquitous Amazon) and really, really useful. Just a thought! Hope you discover their size 🙂

Chicken and noodles (homemade with eggs, milk, flour, and salt) over mashed potatoes! I grew up in SD and have recently met another knitter who grew up in Nebraska who also ate chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. I will be making them for my family (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren) the last Saturday in January. It is a big deal. I live in TN now and love all the seasons, even hot/humid summer because it is better than snow/wind/cold. My husband passed 3 years ago on December 31. I find I tend to be moody this time of year, sometimes up and sometimes down. Learning to accept and go with it. Love chatting with you and knitting my socks. Bea

Jana, you're wonderful! You say a lot of self-care things that I've learned in my 12 step program. And I needed to hear it again. I lost my husband suddenly in August, and so I'm trying to get through the holidays simply. I love your soap boxes, and you both make me laugh out loud (just like watching Fisk). ❤😂

Most stores will offer substitutions for you if an item is not available on your order by texting you. You will have a chance to take the substation or remove it from your order if you don’t want it and they will adjust your total…🙂🛒

You should try your store’s grocery pickup service! I first tried it in October 2019 and never turned back..of course it was huge for everyone during the pandemic, but I find it frees up about 2 hours for me each time I use it. To me, that just turns into more knitting time!

Oh the sweater! Too cute!! It needs a teeny tiny hanger. I grew up with dinner as the noon meal and supper the evening meal, unless you had a lunchbox or bag and ate away from home. Then it was lunch. Exactly as you said Jana. Interesting that a ladies luncheon was shortened to lunch. I never knew that.

Good morning. Can I just say that I absolutely love Ol’ Ladies Complainin and your soapbox! It’s going to be a sad day when Woolly Winter is over and I don’t have you to listen to every morning with my coffee. You’re such a hoot! And than there’s Fisk. Ha!

Your chat today was right on. After my husband passed away 6 years ago I don’t need to explain anything to anyone even with my knitting! In that way, no one will be disappointed if I don’t get a project done…..our wedding anniversary was Dec 24th so it’s especially hard for me at this time. Keep up the good videos 😊

What a great episode to watch while I enjoyed my coffee. I feel all the moods too! Up before 4a today for no reason other than perhaps hormones? It has been a thing lately. Your videos have been a highlight for my early mornings. Anne, I hope the stitch count is an easy fix. Jana, great mini sweater!

Ol' lady complaining…… I hate eating my main meal- dinner in the evening, because of work. I'd much rather eat it at what we call here in England, lunchtime, which is midday. Loving the stripey sock so far, love the colour green.

Just wanted to say thank you, I really needed this because Christmas is one of my hardest time of the year and I always feel guilty that I wish I could just sleep through this holiday( or any holiday). I guess it’s ok to feel this way and to heck with everyone else. Happy Holidays to ya all.
