okay but this is why i need all my stuff to be cooked i don’t eat raw fish and I always ask if they mixed raw and cooked gloves together before i order
I just found out about parasitic worms in fish from a uk sea angler’s video. It seemed that he’d occasionally find them in the meat covering their underside. I then saw them, similarly, in a sushi chef video, but he discarded the belly side of a fillet and used the upper side without comment. So, I learned that maybe we ignore them in fish that’s for cooking but rely on a chef’s integrity with sushi.
I hate stats without context. What does 283 fold even mean. It seems like it means 283 times, but I have a feeling he means 283% increase. Let’s say he’s using it the normal way, what is the span. Is it 1990 when there was wayyy less sushi consumption in America, what’s the time span. What are the actual case numbers, what’s the percent chance of encountering the parasite. Idk. Seems like people give stats without context so you can’t even use the stat.
Is it allso when yu make it by yourself! Please come on! Everything what we eat can be wrong. Thats why yu have to pray fore your food before it comes in youre mounth….
Not even god himself could stop me from eating sushi.. send all that raw scallop, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, mackerel( technically brined I know) my wayyyyy
Lol. Chef of 22 years. If you live in the states the way your sisji grade seafood is imported is enough to kill pretty much all parasites. Legally all seafood coming into food distributors needs to be frozen l, except for tuna. That flash freezing kills most all parasites,
I don't care, I will still eat raw fish

This is why I stopped bothering with fearmongering shorts
