We were just there June 24th this past Sunday and we ate off the buffet. Everything I tried was flavorless except for a bit of flavor in the fried chicken and pinto beans. I didn't like the bread didn't like the potatoes or , the chicken fried steak didn't like anything's just no flavor😢 and I know when you cook for large crowds restaurants you don't per sa, salt and pepper or season things heavily but there was absolutely no seasoning to anything. We didn't even like the pies??!!
Back in the day my Dad would travel a lot 4 business up and down 45 . Family would, both 45 and back way to Groesbeck and Calvert. Sam's is one of the places he would stop to eat a lot back in the day. Back way was the place in that circle Lesleys I think?? Remember their chicken and rolls OMG. We would travel up and down 45 for family visits and different things. he always judge the restaurants by the people coming in and out. He would always say look👀 that must be some good food look at the people coming in and out.
well that doesn't hold true always. I just wanted to put my two cents in about the taste at Sam's these days.

You noticed the Diary Queen, bad sign. In a past video, the food was so good, that you didn't even acknowledge a Diary Queen, which looked like it was right across the street. Oh well…this one was in a cool nostalgic place moist, buttery 🍞 bread!

Good memories, we used to stop at Sam's Restaurant on our way from Dallas to Galveston to get on a cruise ship. Happy to see they're still in business.

Chef, correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like you were overcharged for your meal. The menu says $11.79 for your steak with two sides and your ticket price was $15.99!

This statewide chicken fried steak series is very unique. I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken fried steak, but for some reason I enjoy following along and watching your critique and then trying to guess how you rate it! Weird lol!
