We cook so similar :). I, too, open the fridge and pull everything out and “repurpose”. I also keep a container in my freezer for leftovers. When there are a couple bites of any veggies or a tiny bit of meat, I toss it in the container. Then I use it to make a “soup”. Blessings! LovefromFL 💕

I think if you had made a dish similar to a shepherds pie with your ground meat, gravy and corn, added a few peas and carrots. Then top with potatoes that you could mix with some cheese to bind them together more. I think that would have been better choices in flavor instead of soupy rice. You could have made sweet and sour meatballs to go with the rice. To reheat rice you only need a few tablespoons of water. You could also have used the small bit of turkey in a pot pie, chicken and dumplings, pot stickers or turkey a la king served over toasted bread. Also, can take some of the ground meat from first dish and made a homemade vegetable soup. All of this will stretch your food supply. You can also make cream style corn out of frozen corn( only need about 1/2 cup) to make Mexican cornbread with some of ground meat or sausage( about 1/4 to 1/2 cup), diced jalapeño peppers, onion, drippings from bacon or sausage, and some cheddar or Mexican cheese. Meal in itself…but serve it with some cooked navy or red beans and can serve seasoned red beans over rice to fill you up. Just some suggestions to help stretch your $ during these hard times…the green beans and mushrooms would be great in veg soup.
