they said the oven is pre heated, but never bother saying at what temperature, I'm assuming it is 350.
would have been nice if they had said what temperature it was.

Allspice is NOT pepper. It is pau de cravo in Portuguese. Pepper is pimenta. OMG!

I am making this tonight for my friends now in Las Vegas at nellis. I miss my island family in Terceira so much it's making me cry. Never been to a more wonderful place in my life and I fear I never will. I hope I can visit again some day

Aypah! Don't tell my boss I found this as I was goofing off at work. I will watch later. In the meantime, I recall Alcatra fondly. I last ate it 45 years ago, as a dependent child whose USAF father was stationed at Lajes. Alcatra was great, and apparently still is, and was made with a variety of meats, my personal favorite being chicken. Google also mapped he entire island, so I have found and shared our home in Agualve with my sister. The daunting poverty seems somewhat overcome as I look around the island. At the time, my 10 year old's allowance of $2/wk made me, personally more wealthy than 80% of the adult population who did not work for the base, or American families. Attending bullfights was fantastic fun.
