I was going to ask about that PB powder, I would like to try it but I don't know anyone that uses it. Does it taste like Peanut butter? I think I may get some and try it out. I guess if all else fails and I don't like the taste I can put it in a smoothie or a shake. Great video Nick, I enjoy this content.

IMO, Mexican food is one of the easiest to “lighten up” at home. So, great job doing it and reducing the calories without reducing your wallet. 🤣

My unsolicited 2 cents is to make sure to have protein at every meal. It really does help with satiety while promoting muscle growth/maintenance.

I’ve shared in a previous post my recipe for protein “ice cream” – huge volume to fill you up, good protein, and low calorie. 2 cups of ice, 1 cup of water, 1 scoop of protein powder, and a pinch of guar gum or xantham gum (natural thickening agents) in the food processor for a couple of minutes. It makes a giant bowl and I usually top it with PB2 powder and something crunchy like slivered almonds or a handful of cereal. Or sometimes mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. It depends on what I have on hand and what I’m in the mood for.

One of my favorite breakfast meals is a serving of plain oatmeal with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder stirred in after it’s cooked (you’ll need to add some extra water) topped with slivered almonds and frozen blueberries. The heat of the oatmeal melts the blueberries and makes it almost like a syrup. Sooo good, filling, and high protein.

My other favorite breakfast is scrambled egg whites, liquid egg substitute, or regular eggs mixed with low fat cottage cheese and salsa. Sounds odd but it’s really good – the heat of the eggs mixed with the cool of the cottage cheese and the spice of the salsa. Major protein punch as well!

For snacks/dessert, besides the protein ice cream mentioned above, I love plain fat free greek yogurt mixed with protein powder and topped with whatever I’m in the mood for.

An idea of something to provide the “crunch factor” in soups, salads, etc with less calories – rice cakes – plain or flavored! Crumble up one rice cake on top – I love the white cheddar and tomato basil flavors that Quaker makes. And the sweet flavors are great broken up in yogurt.

Anyway, just some ideas if any interest you. I’d also love to see you eventually consider adding in some strength training at home. It’s so good for you and great for long-term health. I got into weightlifting 7 years ago and it’s done wonders for my body composition, metabolism, mobility, and strength.
