Salt PRESERVED beef does not need Sodium Nitrite to be Red . Just needs PROPER curing , instead of being impatient . Commercialism .
Even now beef is is still expensive. I cook pork and chicken ten ways from Sunday any only occasionally have beef. After I master pork I'll make more beef. Man is corned beef a treat!

Love corned beef, either with cabbage or hashed browns. It isn't very good by itself, but works amazingly in the dishes that primarily use it.
Turkey is dry and ham is good but corned beef is my favorite for every holiday.

It is not corn-sized salt! It is that larger granules of anything were called corns! IE. salt corn, pepper corn, ETC. It just meant Granules.
My roommate makes at least one corned beef brisket every month. Generally two.
They should rename this channel as the Corned Beef Channel.
When I saw the first, second and third corned beef hash videos I seriously thought, "Who knows I crave this with 2 runny fried eggs often?" Now this is just creepy how many vids on corned beef this channel has put out lately. I do love a good corned beef brisket meal too just not as often. A Reuben is something I only recall ordering once in the whole decade of my 30s. I ate it much more in my 20s.
